That same reseller has tweeted that the 128GB Wifi will be £799 :-/
OK, no way I'm gonna be trading in my refurbished 128GB Air 2 for that! Ouch, that's deep into premium ultrabook territory.

Those tweeted prices look spot on. Using the exchange rates used for today's Apple TV prices they're working out at:

32GB - £679
128GB - £806
LTE - £916

Which is within rounding distance of the quoted tweets:

32GB - £679
128GB - £799

They were wrong however with their quoted priced for the Apple TV - they had the dearer model as £179 instead of £169.

Cheaper than the 6S 128GB? Not bad.

I wonder how much the Apple Pencil will be over here? £99 or will it be less and inline with the exchange rate.

I got a price list from data select today, looks like the 32gb will be £649.

I honestly think all of these retailers are just guessing. How would they all be saying different prices otherwise?

I've seen elsewhere 32GB starts at £679. Just waiting for Apple to announce (who are taking their sweet time!)

How ridiculous that they aren't announcing prices for their second largest Western market.

It makes us feel as though we are second class customers.

Google is also guilty of doing this with their Pixel C.

These predictions sound plausible;

"iPad Pro (32GB, Wi-Fi): £649 in the UK (based on the price of an 11in MacBook Air at $899) iPad Pro (128GB, Wi-Fi): £749 (based on the price of a 2.8GHz Mac mini at$999) iPad Pro (128GB, Wi-Fi and cellular): £849 in the UK (based on the price of the 11in 1.6GB MacBook Air at $,1099)."

32GB isn't enough for such a beast tablet, doesn't do it justice in my opinion. Unless you rely solely on the cloud streaming. Therefore 128GB is the only viable option in my eyes. I don't regret going for a refurbished Air 2 128GB at £479 now. I wouldn't want to spend £749 (the irony that the 4 and 7 just swapped places, haha).

I've been mulling over upgrading an iPad 4 128GB wifi to an iPad Air 2 Cellular, but going the refurbished route. £549 as an Apple refurb or what is looking like £849 for the Pro. Not sure the price £300 difference is worth it!

It will be more like £799 for the iPad Pro 128GB Wifi version. I don't think the iPad Pro is meant for everyone, I don't think the average consumer is going to buy the iPad Pro.

I think your pricing estimation is accurate, in my case I'm taking a financial hit also wanting the cellular version, so irrespective of me going Air 2 or Pro it will cost me in the region of £80 extra.

Fair enough, when Apple eventually announce pre-orders, it feels like waiting forever :(

So it look like it's going to be around £800+ for a 128 gig iPad Pro?

Maybe I won't be ordering one after all! :(

Apple can call it 'Pro' all they want but it is just an iPad.

If the 32g is 649 or even 679 then that is not too bad if you don't need the space, and I also think the cheapest model might sell reasonably well. While 16g is too small, 32g is ok if you use cloud storage. I have managed fine on ipad3 and mini2 32g but now I only have the mini and am seriously looking at the pro, though the pencil would be an essential for me.

I agree £649 for the 32Gb model seems about right. That tallies with the percentage jump over the entry level Air 2 when you look at US prices. I wouldnt guess based on the exchange rate, that's a moveable feast.

£649 leaves room for a £100 prices drop when they introduce the iPP2, if that's their long term plan.

I've been tempted to think about getting the 32GB because of how cheap iCloud storage is 50GB for £0.79 a month is very cheap but I do have a lot of movies and TV shows on my current iPad Air 2 (which has 128Gb, 32 of which is free).

Macworld has not long updated it's website to reveal the UK pricing, apparently they have seen retail pricing lists for the UK.

http://www.macworld.co.uk

The pricing starts at £679 for the 32GB and £799 for the 128GB Wifi only. Apple haven't confirmed this yet so it's not official but I do think we will see some announcement from Apple soon about the pricing and release date.

If your in the UK like myself what are your thoughts on this? Are you getting an iPad Pro or not? Has the price put you off? Personally I'm still going to be getting one and I'm hoping for pre-orders to start soon.

Okay, that's insanity. You'll end up paying around 1320 Euro for the 128 GB WiFi only MaxiPad plus accessories.
That's Macbook Pro prices. That's AWFUL value. You could get a Surface Pro 4 for that.

Absolutely ridiculous.

I will still be getting one but not happy at all with the price. £799 is just a lot to digest!

It won't stop me buying it because I've already sold my iPad Air 2 but wondering if I should hold off and buy one in New York when I'm there just after Xmas?

i'm down here in freezing cold Cardiff :)

nope. prices more or less as expected. not too worried. will pay for itself on my first job out of it :)

the hot money is for sale next wednesday. if this includes UK as well, and no pre-order lead in i dont know. but whatever, i have gold one with my name on it and a few accessories too. Hopefully John Lewis will be selling them pretty soon, means i can get points on my JL credit card for a free lunch as well! good thinking eh? ;)

The price does seem high, and as a couple of you have mentioned it's entering into MacBook prices but don't forget for some people this will replace their MacBook.

I wonder what the price of the Apple Pencil and keyboard cover will be over here

Steep price to take the risk on an unproven first gen product. The wise may wait for v2 with more features, hopefully more base memory and fully optimised hardware.

That said, need to see it in the flesh. May be awesome.

Am checking it first in store. The thing about prices is how to compare usefully, as it is effectively double the size of the air, an iPhone 6 Plus is almost as much, and for those with long memories , the apple Newton 2000 was 599 and that was in 1996. Of course it is overpriced as was the first MBA, the defining option for me is can it do what I want it to and almost as well as my Mac, and is the pencil really going to be a game changer. Questions I still need to answer.
