WHAT A PILE OF ****.......

Apple have increased the price of the Mini... to pay for the RAM "update"

now £359

PRICES ARE UP IN THE UK

Oh great, not only are you forced to take AE/BT on the upper models but you HAVE to pay for it by more expensive pricing.

Thanks Apple!

Maybe it's only a consequence of money fluctuations? (price-correction)

We'll see once the Canada store is back up, I guess.

lower overall memory capacity tho (1.25GB for pbook, 1.5GB for ibook)

Yeah, obviously it wasn't enough that the 12" Powerbook was hardly better than the 12" iBook. Now it's starting to fall behind...

After seeing the "new" mini.. seriousley reconsidering my plan to switch. :(

Wow, this is the first time I've seen people so upset with updates...

C'mon.. you can't call than an UPDATE!! That's merely a minor adaptation.. the REAL iBook updates are bound to come next Tuesday! :D

Prices are also higher in Italy than they were.

Yesterday you could order an obsolete iBook and today you can have almost the same iBook at a higher price. What is wrong with you Apple????

Oh, yes, sorry... But what should I call it then? I can't think of anything... *Hopes for next Tuesday* ;)

Prices are the same as before for the low-end Mac mini in Norway.

It doesn't look so bad. You can now get the exact model I bought in February (minus modem) for $300 less. (1.42GHz, 512MB RAM, AP+BT)

Same here in The Netherlands, used to be 999 euro, now you have to pay 1039 euro, which equals US $1250. And in the US the price remained unchanged at $999.

You're lucky. In Austria you have to pay 1049 Euro for the smallest iBook.

Hey wait, he said 999 Euro before, 1039 Euro now, where the latter equals to 1250 USD (the former would be about 1200 USD). So, from your question I conclude that you must be Georg W. Bush. But why do you claim to be from Canada, then? :D

Hey, now, what did I ever do to you? Don't you ever insult me like that again, eh? :D

Price variations are probably due to the strength (or otherwise) of the dollar. It is fair to say that even after tax is taken into consideration Apple's products are more expensive outside the US and that Apple (like everyone else) is quicker to raise prices that to reduce them.

A case in point is the speed with which petrol firms raise prices at the pumps in response to crude oil prices then take ages to lower them saying the two aren't related....
