After 2 weeks my watch felt on a stone ground in my bathroom. See the result. I am a little bit dissapointed. Good for me that I have Appe Care

I know. They said it is the rugged Apple Watch ever. Didn‘t know that it is not true! My fault…I dropped the watch wrong..
It is the most rugged Apple Watch ever. All of the improvements are designed to make it tough enough to be worn in extreme use situations such as climbing or diving. Damage like yours would be almost impossible while the watch is on your wrist and if you did manage to do it, the broken Apple Watch would be the least of your problems.

Yep, that’s the key thing: the toughness is designed for when it’s being worn.

This is a fluke, really. Unfortunate, yes, but as noted, exactly what insurance is for.

This thread title had me thinking the OP had also experienced the fall, so I’m glad everyone is okay and that AC+ was in play.

Seasonal MR participant here —whenever there’s a new product that I must have (rare) — and seeing the photos of mishaps is always a good reminder to remain diligent about handling/storing devices when in their vulnerable states, but also a personal reminder that I’m spending too much time on MR, lol.

It's unfortunate but, you did drop it not Apple. I've owned Garmin Fenix and now the Ultra and the Garmin can also be broken if dropped (shocking eh).

Seriously, I appreciate it's gutting but you did drop it onto a very hard serface & the weakest part of the watch made contact first. That part is normally shielded by your arm and the toughened outter shell of the watch. You'll just have to take it on the chin and learn to be more careful. I've had 3 AW over 5 years and never experienced this (all SS & TI watches)

The back of the Ultra is much more likely to break than the front because of the convex glass and ceramic. With a regular Series watch you have two sides that are at risk from a drop.

If this type of damage was sustained when actually wearing the watch, you’d have a lot more to worry about 😅

Gutted though. This is why AC+ is a must! Glad you have it 👌
