He is so very irritating.
You’re not wrong. Granted, a lot of what I term “new tech” YouTube* is really annoying (I can’t really stand LinusTechTips, either, and I certainly can’t stand the videos from other people on his channel), but Unbox Therapy IS unusually weak of a presenter for a large YouTube channel (makes me wonder why he’s far more popular than some far better presenters). I mean, he’s clearly successful, but I really don’t get why people watch his stuff. It’s one of those channels where, if it pops up in my recommendations, I’m just going to ignore it. (There’s a worse fate, though. If I see a Be Amazed video in my recommendations, I might even verbally complain before I ignore it.)

* There are several retro tech YouTube channels whose style I like far more than the new tech channels. But even the lesser names of retro tech YouTube are usually less annoying than the big names of new tech (and especially than the small, also-rans of new tech YouTube). Smugness can be an issue with some retro tech YouTubers, though.

The reason for lacklustre sales for iPhone mini is not because of its size, it's because Apple decided to omit Pro features, the battery life due to physical constraints is less and the price difference is not that tempting. If it was a smaller version of my 13 Pro, I'd definitely prefer the mini compared to the clunky 13 Pro.

Uh oh, a larger camera bump. Let the complaints...begin. ;)

Great to know you get a frontpage spotlight on MacRumours if you're a professional clickbait scam artist :)

I have a 12 pro and my wife has the 13 pro. Both the weight and camera bump on the 13 is noticeable. My wife came from a 11 and almost took it back to get a 12.

If the 14 has a bigger camera bump that will be a bummer. I will be hanging on to this 12 for as long as I can.
I know the bump bothers a lot of people but I never could get that worked up about it. Physics sort of requires it. If Apple comes out with periscope cameras they could possibly remove the bump completely.

My iPhone case is pretty thick rubber so the bump doesn't protrude beyond the case.

YouTuber Unbox Therapy has shared a hands-on look at the iPhone 14 Pro Max using what he claims is a one-to-one replica created by third-party case makers with access to detailed schematics and dimensions for Apple's new upcoming flagship smartphone.

As with the iPhone 13 Pro lineup, in 2022, we are expecting a 6.1-inch iPhone 14 Pro and a 6.7-inch iPhone 14 Pro Max, but this time the Pro models are said to feature two display cutouts – one pill-shaped, one circular – to house the Face ID components and front-facing camera, respectively. Slimmer bezels around the display will make space for these cutouts, according to rumors.

Unbox Therapy's iPhone 14 Pro Max replica appears to mirror these changes, and it appears that there are some other, more minor tweaks to the handset, too. In this instance, there are no antenna bands on the edges of the device, along with slightly larger power and volume buttons, although the accuracy of these differences cannot be verified.

Otherwise, the replica features a design for the iPhone 14 Pro Max that falls broadly in line with other illustrations and measurements shared by 91Mobiles, Max Weinbach, and ShrimpApplePro. For example, the handset is ever so slightly thicker, while the rear camera bump is marginally bigger, in terms of both height and width as well as level of protrusion. The only new dimensions we haven't seen before are for individual lens diameters (16.17mm versus 15.51mm on the iPhone 13 Pro Max).

According to reputable Apple analyst Ming-Chi Kuo, the increased size of the iPhone 14 Pro and ‌iPhone 14 Pro‌ Max's rear camera array is due to all-new 48-megapixel Wide camera systems. The 48MP camera system is expected to be limited to the ‌iPhone 14 Pro‌ models and allow for 8K video recording, offering a significant upgrade over the ‌iPhone 13 Pro‌'s 12MP camera and 4K video recording capabilities.

Assuming the replica is accurate, the general takeaway is that iPhone 13 Pro Max users will find the feel of Apple's successor model to be extremely familiar when it launches later this year. After seeing lackluster iPhone mini sales, Apple is planning to focus on larger iPhone sizes for its flagship devices, and alongside the Pro models we're expecting to see a 6.1-inch iPhone 14 and a 6.7-inch iPhone 14 Max, both of which retain a notch at the top of the display.

Hopefully the emergency satellite text SOS will be up and running when it rolls out.

My 12's case renders the bumps unnoticeable too.

It's a non issue as the vast majority will be slapping the phone in a case anyway which will make it flush to hold and lay down flat on a desk or whatever.
It's a real shame that those of us who like using iPhones in it's natural form without a case and appreciate the design are left dealing with the ugly bump.

Well it's an issue for lots of people, apparently. Those who don't use a case, I guess.

My biggest design complaint is putting the sleep button opposite the volume controls. I've taken numerous screen-shots because of that.

Do you use your iPhone or just look at it?

Just slap it in a case and don't worry about it.
Yes, that's the whole point. Some of us like using the phone without added bulk of tacky, ugly cheap plastic/other materials on the premium design which cheapens the feel when using it and adds weight.

Why on earth are we watching this guy? I look at him as the "Pillow Guy" of the tech world, having done so many stupid things on his website and even trying to rip off his viewers. I'm just wondering where he stole that dummy unit from.
The CAD files are easily available and anyone wanting to do a 3D print to make an iPhone 14 can do it. That's how case manufactures/accessory makers always have their stuff on sale long before the next iPhone officially launches.

Fingers crossed that 8K video recording will be a setting that can be disabled.
8K will come with the iPhone in about 5 years when the iPhone will have 2TB because 8K takes more space. YES, there will be an iPhone with 2TB.

Because years and years ago the iPhone had 32gb and who would’ve have thought that someday we’ll have and iPhone with 1TB.

Corporate wants you to find the difference between this iPhone and this iPhone….
