There's no difference between the "cards". If you only have 1GB RAM the GPU will only use 128MB. If you have 2GB or more it will use 256MB, so you can get the 1GB mini and upgrade later.

I see now, thank you. The so called high end mini shoud have the 2,26 ghz processor standard to be called high end really.

Just saw this on geekbrief.tv:

eeekeyboard.jpg

That's the ASUS eeeKeyboard. It's basically a Netbook in a different form factor that hooks up to TVs via HDMI.

I so hope Apple makes something in this direction. Yes, the keys are backlit and that is a touchscreen on the right.

LOL! It's the new Commodore 64!!!

this keyboard thing is pretty useless except for server admins maybe who just need terminal or anything like that.

the rest of us wouldn't have a need for a fullsize keyboard and an iphone like screen.... i guess.... ;)

The main problem with putting everything in the keyboard is that your fingers get cooked.

Open up a laptop, you'd be surprised where the computing parts are located. :D

I was referring to the keyboard/small touchscreen combination. I wouldn't have the touchscreen as main screen, rather as a secondary screen for occasional number entries (num pad on the touchscreen), scrub bars for full screen movie players, that kind of thing.

I wonder how it would feel like in terms of ergonomics to have the trackpad on the far right. I like how it's placed on laptops, I just have to pull away my hand a little from the keys until my thumb rests on the button. It also works for lefties. I trust Apple designers to make something that's actually enjoyable to use. The chicklet keyboard and glass trackpads are awesome I think. When angled upward just a little, I can't imagine anything more comfortable to work on than a Macbook. Don't miss the num pad or mouse at all. To punch in numbers, I have my left hand on 1-4, the right hand on 7-0. Actually, the num lock key on my Macbook annoys me, when I blindly want to turn up the volume (F5) on my Macbook, I sometimes hit F6 and have to hit it again to turn it off...

Does the slim iMac keyboard have a num lock key? Or is it exactly like the bluetooth version?

Can't Believe they would let a desktop computer go without a full keyboard with number pad...... absolutely makes no sense on a computer used for business.

I am sure they did a lot of research on that. Let's repeat, you can pick the full-size keyboard without extra cost. Personally, I much prefer the compact keyboard. The Mac Pro comes with Apple Keyboard with Numeric Keypad.

Target market not business. CONSUMERS. Repeat, CONSUMERS. Business use is a by product, for lot of people it is a business machine, myself included, but not the target.

Also, as many have said and I complained about in the thread earlier, do 1 minute of research and you would understand that YOU CAN GET THE FULL-SIZE KEYBOARD INSTEAD AT ORDER FOR THE EXACT SAME PRICE.

:eek::eek::eek::eek::eek::eek::eek::eek::mad::mad::mad::mad::confused:

I know I shouldn't get so annoyed when people complain about something that isn't correct, but c'mon people! do some research.

I just went to their store. chose the 24" imac and these are the options I have for the keyboard. Note that both with or without the number pad there's no difference in price. It only costs $50 more to add a wireless keyboard.

Also to all the people complaining about only have firewire 800 when you have firewire 400 devices, fw800 is 100% backwards compatible with fw400 (aside from speed, of course). You can buy an adapter or cable that you plug fw800 on one end and get fw400 end.

Although IMO they should have added the 4th usb port and have 2 firewire 800 ports, but that's just me :)

Being a good person I was researching the keyboards prior to my first plus (i'd like a gold star please), unless Apple has another wireless keyboard, I was under the impression that the $50 wireless keyboard is in fact without numeric keypad, so for a wireless keyboard with numeric keypad you need to chat with Logitech or Microsoft or...

I would really like to see them add a no keyboard option and cut $15/20 from the price. One less keyboard in the wild not being used would add a little extra to their green cred.

I'm actually mildly impressed with these new updates. They finally have the option of a current range high end video card (the HD4850).

It is irritating that they only offer it on their 2nd highest (and highest) config models. They then have the gall to charge an additional $200USD/$380AUD for it. But hey, its up-to-date and fast.

You'd be silly not to get it, because it'll improve the longevity of the computer substantially.

4 USB? About time.

IMHO, isn't it supposed to be that way? That's the only way where you can use your fingers instead of moving your arm each time...

(well that's the way it's supposed to be when you play on keyboards(as in pianos or electric keyboards)... and it should be similar in terms of the computer keyboards....)

nice to see new imac's but im not too crazy about the shared video memory on the low end models, and it looks like the prices went up in canada.

it is nice the low end imac has fast ram and better cpu but it sucks that they put a 9600m in it

Why?

The *9400M* is like a secondary/integrated GPU in addition to the first one. So you can now do basic graphics without wasting the power, without any more energy cost/ thermal considerations...

The 9400M G provides better graphics performance than the ATI Radeon HD 2400 XT that was in the old low end iMacs. (You of course have to make sure you have plenty of RAM as you lose out on 256MB of it due to the shared RAM).

It isn't really in addition because the low end iMacs now just have the 9400M.
