Following up on its extensive gallery of unboxing and comparison photos for the new iPod shuffle yesterday, iLounge has now done the same for the new iPod nano and iPod touch. The gallery, which will continue to be updated with additional photos today, shows off the packaging, organization, and included accessories available with the new models.

in stores now

nothing beats having an apple store across the street to walk to... I was surprised at how seductive even the new nano is... and the new touch... how do they make it so thin? the screen, as to be expected is amazing.

I kept trying to figure out why I needed one, but with my iphone4....

but the new ones are sweet indeed.

If it's the box you want, then I'd get the shuffle. I think they're packaged in the same box, although I could be mistaken.

Well i'm not gonna buy either just to get a box, I was just saying they look kinda cute..

That's good to know. I see what you mean; on a product that depends significantly on appearance for sales, packaging is half the battle, and the miniature boxes for the new shuffle and nano are quite appropriate.

I really think the mic-and-controls headphones should be standard with every iPod by now. (Maybe not the shuffle, if it can’t use the mic and cheap is key.) The new Nano is clippable, which begs for remote control. And the new Touch does video calls; any audio chat can benefit from a mic near your mouth.

iPod Classic

I know it wasn't announced, and there hasn't been any discussion, but should I even hold out for any sort of upgrade on the iPod Classic? Are they doing any upgrades to the OS or anything?

does anyone know if the new Nano can play 24/48 files?? The iPhones, and iPads can and I just need to make sure the Nano can. I would really appreciate some help.

the new nano will be the biggest fail since the nano fatty (3g), it's not as ugly as the fatty, but the design still sucks, looks a bit like an asia rip off and the price is ridiculous...

There haven't been any updates that I've heard of. The question is though, would you want an update? Look at what they've just done while 'updating' the nano...!

(Yes, I'm sure a lot of people will think it's cool - but it's a new product, not an upgrade to the nano)
