I dunno what planet your from (kidding lol) but 4G symbol has never represented LTE in North America
All GSM Networks in USA Display:
4G and LTE (depending if they are on HSPA/HSPA+ or LTE)
All GSM Networks in Canada Display:
3G and LTE (depending if they are on HSPA/HSPA+ or LTE)
Sorry ! Lol I just wanted to be sure but finally got lte to show up for literally 8 seconds so now I know. Thanks ! First time having a tmobile capable lte phoneuusing Verizon and AT&T too long

Hi im from italy and i want an iphone 5s to use it here in italy with my 4G carier vodafone!which model works perfect the 4g ?
Question becomes: why on earth would you NOT want to use Verizon in the USA?
Frankly I don't care what carrier I use, work pays my bills.
I'm using AT&T and quite relieved. For the first four years I worked for this company Verizon was the de facto choice. Finally we got a new CEO, he experienced the same exact connectivity problems that those of us who worked in certain locations did.
Not one to procrastinate he immediately brought in AT&T... Problem solved.
Moral of the story? No matter the brand of handset it's a radio. Subject to the carriers coverage areas. If Verizon had great coverage everywhere & prices were equal everyone else would go out of business.
It's only as good as the network it's on. No more no less.
Hmm the best??verizon or t mobile for better signal?or they was the same for europe? You can get any iPhone 5S - According to Apple the iPhone 5 A1429 which had bands 1,3,5 for LTE was listed as supported for Italy, now the 5C and 5S all support bands 1,3,5 so you can get any iPhone 5S you want and take it there and it'll work.
Pick up a:
1) Verizon
2) AT&T or T-Mobile or GSM SIM unlocked if you can.
DO NOT GET SPRINT MODEL.
Any/All 5C/5S will work in Italy 100%

It didn't occur to me till now, but my post was somewhat unclear. The company now uses both carriers. AT&T was added, it wasn't meant to replace Verizon as they too have areas they serve better than AT&T. Having both gives all employes the solution they seek. Clear reliable connectivity.Somewhat like your reason I mentioned in OP that if you are getting your iPhone 5C/5S on contract, don't bother with wanting to get the Verizon iPhone 5C/5S and instead stick with what you are getting.
Main goal of my post is that its helpful for those that are buying at full price, might as well the model that supports the most - giving flexibility to the buyer today and to the potential future buyer of the iPhone (because maybe they want it on a CDMA network rather than GSM and with Verizon model, they can do just that).
I know Most of the time people take threads off topic faster than actually staying on topic.
Go with Verizon if you can, otherwise grab a AT&T model at full price and you will be good, they all give same signal

I had that issue when I tried out a T-Mobile SIM in my "Verizon" iPhone 5s. For whatever reason when it changed to the T-Mobile carrier settings it didn't add the APN to the LTE profile. I typed it in manually and then it came up.
Would you mind posting your APN settings for LTE ? Just wanna see if they're the same as mine... I do get LTE on TMO on my VZW IP5S
Thanks![]()

Thank you very much for all of the info you have provide. I bought a Verizon 5s and am enjoying the cheap prepaid plan from AT&T, I would still be paying contract prices and be locked in for two years if you haven't provided the info you have. Again, thanks!
I am still a little confused on one thing, apple.com/iphone/lte does not show the A1533 model using any carriers in the U.K.. But if I'm understanding you correctly the A1533 model should work on Vodafone in the U.K. as long as they use one of the 11 bands listed for A1533 model, correct? Even though iphone/lte is not showing it as supported.
Appreciate any clarification you can give me.
Thats correct, It'll still work, Apple refrains from listing/mentioning multiple models mainly because the A1533 will not be sold in Europe/UK and it would cause nothing but confusion for those wondering on and on for no reason.
As mentioned in the past, iPhone is designed unlike any Android phone. All Supported Carriers (Given they are GSM) will work with any iPhone be it on 3G/4G/LTE (depending on the radio compatibility of the iPhone and network) because Apple Prepackages the APN settings onto each and every iPhone (That is why majority of the time we just slip in the SIM and never have to configure anything - Only MVNO's aka Virtual Networks we have to configure settings for).
iPhone's are the simplest/easiest devices to configure with any Network worldwide.
For me, I spend half my time in the US and Canada.
So, I can get the 5C through Verizon and use a Canadian sim card while I'm in Canada?
Would it be cheaper for me to just use Verizon in Canada?
It Depends, but you can get any - I only recommend Verizon for those that are paying full price and mainly because it gives flexibility and is the biggest bang for your buck.
I'm not sure what you mean by full price.
I'm currently with Verizon so I would get it through them anyways with my upgrade. I just want to be sure that if I get a 5C from them, it will be able to take a Canadian sim card no matter what.
