Surprised more hasn't leaked about this. If its coming mid 2014 it will likely have been in production for some time - possibly during the last 3, 4 or 5 months. The mac mini 2011 server I have was announced in late July 2011, but was manufactured in February of that year.

What constitutes "Mid"? We're pretty close to "late" (September IIRC from last year for the retina MacBook Pro) in the refresh cycle.

Spec bump only

Both the MacBook Air and the Pro have had simple processor/ram/storage size updates. I really think if the mini is updated soon it will follow the same logic. No external changes and no PCIe based SSD.

Most exciting news of 2014. All this iPhone 6 stuff was expected anyway, but I actually was afraid Apple was going to kill the Mini.

Still big for the mini, since it never went to Haswell....especially big in the graphics department....quad core models should get Iris pro.

My wallet is ready.

I'd expect a major overhaul (not that there is a crazy amount that they can do)

New Mac Pro
New mini
New MacBook Air design
A lot of reinvention by Apple recently and in months to come...

I'm betting they will shrink the heck out of it and in the process make it near un-upgradable, which can be good and bad, but I'm thinking with about the same footprint at about 1/2 the height.

There is a lot of 'wasted room' inside the current version. You can currently upgrade the memory and add a second drive relatively easily, and we all know Apple doesn't like that. :D

Please please please pretty please!

Not having at least HD5000 GPU & and 802.11AC is what is keeping me away from the current Mac Mini. My home network is already at AC1900.

I suspect it may get some new SSD options but an update to Haswell would be more than a minor spec bump for the Mini

The normal MacBook Pro has not been updated since the same time and doesn't have a Haswell Processor either.

Yes, but it's been essentially EOL'd. Apple has all but said its done w/ DVD. (It may have actually said it and I don't remember its been so long). I would think it's days on Apple's price sheets are severely numbered now.
