I haven't actually heard the new bundled headphones yet. However, it seems virtually unanimous that they are better than the old ones. The point in question seems to be whether they are good enough.

I don't understand how this can form the basis for a complaint. I have 2 sets of quality iem's, a nice set of supra-aural cans, and a dedicated headphone amp. It would never occur to me that I should expect comparable sound quality out of a cheap, bundled set. I would either use it as is, because I can't afford anything else, or buy something decent. But to complain about the improved set, whether you feel they are adequate or not, is juvenile.

All of these unhappy folks ... I'd be happy to a pair off your hands for cheap. ;)

Too little bass. I need to turn up the equalizer to make me dance. When I turn off the equalizer, though, I feel like I'm listening to cheap earphones.

In layman's terms, it's not good enough. The beats (not the headphones) aren't really booming.

And did I mention how horrible it sounds in public with noise? They aren't even trying to isolate the noise.

They should have taken Apple's In-Ear, boost the bass a lot, then bundle it. That's just perfect.

What are your thoughts?

If you want good quality headphones you need to buy one that isn't included with a phone. Good quality headphones just aren't included with any phone other than some that come with beats.

An HTC (and some other droid phone) has Beats By Dr. Dre with it's bundle, that's why I'm complaining about stock Apple ear phones. Yes, I'm expecting more than this, and yes, I'm expecting Apple to be the best. Not this, this is unacceptable.

Beats audio is crap. Maybe some good seinhesser headphones would have been nice but again if you want good headphones you need to come up with extra $$$. HTC beats phones selling point are the headphones, the iPhones selling point is the phone itself.

I've put the new ear pods against the old earphones and I notice a HUGE difference in sound quality specifically bass, so I can't figure out what the fuss is about. How much better do you want to listen to music out of portable earphones? I'm sorry, I don't get it. People just love spending money.

Wow. I was really impressed with these headphones. To me the sound is so much more detailed and I can hear the bass unlike the old ones.

$400 IEMs no longer considered high end? D:

lol... not when there are $1.5k+ customer IEM's. I still have my pair of UE-10 which I bought like 6 years ago, but I'm finding that the earpods are actually quite good for casual listening. No complaints at all and they are much better than the prior earbuds.

It's hard to justify complaining about something that is bundled for free with a phone. I mean do you guys want beats or bose in there? I mean they are passable. If you want high-end, them pay for it. No free lunch

I love my beats headphones I got with my HTC rezound. The phone itself is alright although I have it rooted and ROM'ed and the ROM is kinda buggy.

my iphone 5 ships Oct 19th and I plan on using my beats headphones.

When Apple said "Competitors costs a hundred dollars more", I expected S4i quality, not this. I still can't hear the bass. Well, I can, but it isn't strong enough.

And did I mention the annoying thing when you're in noisy environments? UGH! I can't even enjoy what I'm listening to!

So is the Beats By Dr. Dre. It's a free bundled accessory with some droid phone (I forgot, probably HTC). So is the Samsung's earphones which is so much better than this.

----------

They have made the Apple In-Ear, though. They should have bundled that. Since they have experience with making that headphone, I wouldn't call it "Baby Steps".

This is true. I hate them. They actually HURT my ears.

BEATS BABY. BEATS.

Dude seriously? The beats headphones from the HTC rezound are amazing! Nothing beat's them, nothing. You put them on and I guarantee you will never go back to whatever you have now.

You do realize that Beats Audio is a complete gimmick, right?

These are fine for casual listening. If I'm going to be putting them in and taking them out a lot or if I'm somewhere where people are talking to me a lot, I'll just use the EarPods. They're not terrific, but they're pretty good and acceptable in my book.

If I'm going to be listening for a while without being disturbed (like at the library) I'll use my Beats Tour headphones - I don't really like the big over ear style. For working out I have a pair of Adidas/Sennheiser PMX680i headphones - best exercise headphones ever. And for speakers I have Bose Companion 5's at my desk.

You must be kidding me.

Ok people I'm going to say this Once and only once.

Beats headphones are the best on the market. Beats by Dre my friends.

Quality, comfort, bass - they simply do not get better.

If you don't have beats headphones, you haven't listened to music.

I bought beats, and they are overpriced and audio junk. Not worth more than $20 at best.

Not sure which ones you got but I've used friends' Studio beats and I thought they were great. A little bass heavy but I guess that's the point. You wouldn't buy them if all you listen to is classical music.

I prefer in-ear headphones so I got the Tours and had issues with sound quality until I spent half an hour switching between the included tips. Once you get a good seal, they sound really good. Definitely worth more than the $29 EarPods ;)

Can't build a house without a foundation. Bass is the most important part of music that has it. That's the way music works.

Depends on the kind of music. Most of my jazz and classical music doesn't sound right on my beats. Rap and pop on the other hand...

You are just listening to market hype. beats are rubbish. I'm a DJ, I would know.

Either trolling or being sarcastic. I will admit they are comfortable headphones, but no way in hell are they the best on the market. Wouldn't even crack my TOP 10 list.

I dont see a huge issue, they sound great to me, they cost $29 bucks so they will sound like a $29 headphones, and by those standards these are excellent, if they dont fit in anyones ear sorry they aren't made for everyone lol , great thing is there are plenty of options out there no need to complain just go out and buy what works for you :D
