I once had a similar issue with my iphone 6 Plus.. I had settled with the scuff and tried to forget about it. Until one fine day I realized the camera could no longer focus.

So really you are lucky that nothing else got harmed internal or external.

On 2nd thoughts, check everything carefully.

Sorry to the OP. I always use the phone naked.

Now on to my selfish question to the experts. If the phone was silver, would it have not gotten chipped like this since it doesn't have a coating like the gold and grey ones? I guess, even with gold it probably wouldn't show as much?

Yes. This is exactly why I've went back to all silver devices.

Now that it's already damaged, just go without a case and enjoy the look and feel of the iPhone without a large bulky case.

This is sage advice.

To which I might suggest that's it's an opportunity to refocus on the big picture. Thousands of people who can't afford an iPhone would be grateful for your situation...

Perhaps I can re-direct you to the last sentence of my original post. Save the rhetoric, I'm aware...

You know if you're feeling up to it you could potentially repair the paint yourself, I managed to do this on my iPhone 6 plus before selling.

Random I know but I went to a car paint supplier as they are able to mix paints to your exact requirements, I got the right paint and primer (needed metallic lacquer to prevent dull drying) made sure I covered all areas not to be touched and went to work, the phone looked perfect and you could not tell it had been touched.

Sadly I don't have before and after pictures as just looked like a new phone and sold it on.

I hope you disclosed your handiwork to the buyer.

Its not the end of the world and not that bad. I have the 6s and have some blemishes on the edges. It happens.

I just got a 6 for work and it already has scratches on the screen a bit even after 4 months. It happens....
