Yes, thinner is good. No space left for a GPS and sim card tray I guess. Battery life is good as it is.
Anyway I won't be buying a new one. The price for this thing is not worth the benefit it returns.
Also thinner.. sounds like the bands won't fit anymore. If they do that I think a lot of customers (like me) will be mad and never buy bands again.
IF apple enables a cellular connection there is no way they're going to use a sim tray. It's going to be their imbedded SIM and it will be part of the S2 (or S3) SoC.

Damn it. I wanted to buy an Apple Watch tomorrow. Seeing rumours like this makes me doubt whether to get it now or wait. I really really want one. Blah.

I felt the same so last month I went on eBay and got an Apple Watch for €150! That's €320 off new price, and I can just sell it for about the same price just before the new one comes out.. Win win! Well, apart from the douch who bough a new one and I payed €150 for it! Hahaha Do people still say 'winning'?

The main thing id like in a new Apple Watch is accurate heart rate tracking during workout - its currently garbage. A real heart rate monitor says i'm doing 155bpm (which I bloody well feel) and the Apple Watch things i'm doing 55bpm...which lower than most peoples resting heart rate ffs!

Well crap.... I just bought a second watch..... but now I'm thinking I need to return it before my 15 days are up..... I didn't expect new watches until September....

How about they don't make it any thinner, but use that 'extra' space to put in better battery!

Now that would be great!

In this case I would say no. As being a watch I like it to be thinner and to gain more processing power. From G3 on I second your thoughts.

This is the first of the design flaws in the rev 1 iWatch. Thanks for listening, Apple.

The other two for a reminder are:

2) Battery life a minimum of a week.
3) Always on display.

Then I might consider buying one.
An always on display wouldn't work well with OLED screens. Also, what is to point of an always on display if you not looking at it at all times

Yes, since day 1. Is it super bulky? No. but it could be thinner. iPhone doesn't need to be thinner, MacBooks don't need to be thinner, Apple Watch does.
I finish the day with ~55% battery so don't care for an expanded battery.
Many areas that the watch is lack is due to the limited battery. I'm not talking about the simple hours between charging. The things that need more power are, better CPU, more RAM, dedicated GPS/compass, always on display, etc. This translates to better Siri, better fitness, local apps that launch fast, better background updating, and more independence from your phone…

I will not be upgrading this time around. I just bought a new iPad Pro, and I'm getting the new iPhone whenever it comes out. I'm totally happy with my first gen watch until next year.

The only things I want out of a Generation 2 watch are:

  • It's round - why not have two form factors? Developers have been able to cope with multiple iOS form factors for years. Seems to work ok on Android. (Yes, I know, boo hiss)
  • It has a GPS - so you can take it on runs / get turn by turn feedback without a phone (especially running, I'm worried about the phone falling off an armband or out of a pocket).
I'm not bothered by the thickness much. A lot of dumb watches are a lot thicker.

Look at many android ware phones. They use a simplified display when idle. It does not update as frequently, and is mostly black. OLED is good at this because it only needs power for active pixels.
I would like an always on display that just shows the time and notification indicator. When I lift my wrist the rest can fade in.

iPhone Pro for $100 more starting at 32 GB for the price you used to get a 64GB one for.

32 GB 128GB 256GB

Huge marging cuz they sell memory worth 11€ for an additional 100€

I have no plans to upgrade my Apple Watch but I'm also not planning to NOT upgrade. I won't make any final decisions based on rumors.

My only plan is to wait and see what is new and confirmed by Apple, whenever Apple decides to do their official reveal. Then I will decide.

I still don't understand the FaceTime camera. I mean who wants to hold you wrist up for a several minute long convo and look at someone. I don't even like using the phone feature for long conversation becuase it's an uncomfortable position.

Let's hope it's an ignorant rumor. Plus, imagine how long the battery will last, when I can see the impact in real time on my phone.
