This should come as a surprise to absolutely no one as Apple has been telegraphing through Gurman, et al. for over a year that mini-LED was “unlikely” to make it into the 11” iPad Pro. This will be the last model of the 11” iPP as the 12.9” will size down to 12” and a larger size will take the 12.9” place whilst moving the price point up a little further and the iPad Air becomes your de facto 11” model. It’s all part of the plan.

Agreed.

I'm sure the 11" Pro outsells the 12.9" and would make the cost of mini-LED cheaper not just for the end user but for manufacturing and bulk purchasing and assembly, no?
Wrong. Pulling assumptions with no data.

12.9” is Apple best iPP seller.

All these people saying no reason to upgrade from their 2021 or 2018. I'm still not going to upgrade from my 2017 10.5"! Not if there's a chance next year will finally have mini-LED.
Well the 2017 10.5 ipad pro is still good but the device is going to age fast as next year it will most likely not get ios 17 , not to mention I got ride if it since it is one of the few older devices that does not support spatial audio. Also, apple stopped supporting the A10 chip on the phones as well.

Yep.

It was literally the best product they’ve released in years.

Not one iPad Pro since has been worth upgrading to.

mini LED LMFAO, just use OLED Tim because we know it’s coming you cheapo.
I disagree the m1 ipads are a huge boost in speed

I can’t understand why the 11” Pro exists. The iPad Pro is a “Pro” iPad because of technology, sure, but also for the big screen! Apps have different layouts (try iWork on a 12.9” and on a 11”, unusable), more space to write and draw, a better multitasking. The 11” Pro is an Air with 120Hz and a useless TB4 that you can’t use at full speed. IMO, they should have a lineup like this:
• 10.5” iPad
• 11” iPad Air
• 13.3” and 15.6” iPad Pros

I'm planning to upgrade my pro 2017 10.5 if price remains the same...mKV movie files just drain the device quick.

As the owner of an 11” iPad Pro, couldn’t care less. Much like ProMotion, it’s much talked about and of very little real world relevance.

Come on, 120hz+ is great! Switch between a 60hz and 120hz display and the difference is night and day.

Mini LED would be nice, but as someone who regularly uses an 11" iPad Pro and 14" MacBook Pro, even side by side, I don't notice the difference in screen technology in day to day use. If I had a 60hz iPad though I would notice immediately and always.

I would still be happy to get it though. I use my iPad to play a lot of FTL, and I think the dark space backgrounds would look even nicer on a mini LED screen.

Work from home employees being less productive means fewer upgrades over older devices. You all should have expected this.
Oh give me a break. The work from home bias is becoming ridiculous. The decision to not switch this to mini LED would have nothing to do with where employees are working. It is naive to think that.

Wrong. Pulling assumptions with no data.

12.9” is Apple best iPP seller.
Seems like you’re doing the same here. Except I made an opinion. “I’m sure” is NOT fact. It’s an opinion. Your above is a statement not an opinion so might I ask, where’s your data to support this?

Also Which 12.9” is the best selling? Or are you staying across all versions of each now?

Nah. Apple prebooked most components and manufacturing capacities years in advance.
It probably only felt lackluster because in the end, the iPads still run iPadOS. The limitation right now is in the OS, not the hardware.
Well, that’s one reason, but it will also feel lackluster because of no mini-LED screen tech in the 11”

Looks like i am sticking with my 2018 model another year.
Same. Well, i technically have the 10.5” 2017 model but it’s very similar to the 11.”

I bought an iPad mini 6 cellular this year which i like for its portability but in terms of real world performance, unless you’re rendering video or playing games heavily, you won’t notice a difference. My use is usually just Reddit, YouTube, and safari and it’s basically the same.

You are correct, you have no facts. So your statement is baseless.

Man you seriously need help. I never denied I'm incorrect.

1. I did NOT make a statement, I made an opinion.
Definition of opinion:
"a view or judgment formed about something, not necessarily based on fact or knowledge"
Definition of opinion

my post you're contesting:
Agreed.

I'm sure the 11" Pro outsells the 12.9" and would make the cost of mini-LED cheaper not just for the end user but for manufacturing and bulk purchasing and assembly, no?

I was not clear above, there is an opinion with a question. Nothing I stated about the 11" iPad Pro was clear nor concise about it outselling the 12.9" iPad Pro.

2. You made a statement - and no source to back it up:
Definition of statement:
"a definite or clear expression of something in speech or writing."

your post, no source of said fact. Still no source to backup your statement:
Wrong. Pulling assumptions with no data.

12.9” is Apple best iPP seller.

So again where is your source to backup your fact?
