It always strikes me as funny that so many commenters evidently do not understand what a “Rumor” is. Some of it is right. Some of it is wrong. I would like to think most of us who come here like Apple stuff and visiting this site is a fun time killer as we plan for how we will potentially spend money in the future. Obviously there is also some Apple trolling here, and occasionally I think paid shills from maybe Samsung or other companies in these comments. Whatever, at least remember what a rumor is. All that said, I am not sure I have seen any other product rumor sites that get the traffic and interaction this site does, which says something about Apple’s success whether they have boring releases or not.

Isn’t that the expectation? This will be a rehashed 2020 MacBook Air with a cheaper finish. If we’re lucky, all ports will be retained. Internally is where the cost cutting occurs.
Hoping there will be no notch on this if its the 2020 MBA chassis.

Sooooo... it'll be M5 MacBook Pro's, Mac Studio, if we are VERY lucky Mac Pro, and an iPad chip bump and that is it, they will be inviting the media and influencers to basically look at some faster machines with the EXACT same designs otherwise. Wow. Cook overhyping it as usual then. I miss Jobs.

I don't think so, they aren't going to have a big week announced then just say an M5 Max is now available.

But that’s exactly how M4 Pro/Max was announced.

People are putting far too much emphasis on the marketing language. What else would Tim Cook say? “Mediocre week coming soon! Media folks, come try out our stuff.”

Keep in mind the media buys their own plane tickets and hotel rooms. Apple has to sell it to the media to go to their event.

What if the ‘low cost’ MacBook is in fact an Air with an A-series chip at a lower price point?
I still think the most likely scenario for the entry level MacBook is taking the M1 MBA, putting an A series chip in it (A18 Pro based on most rumors) and giving the aluminum some new colors. If that is the case it is a chip refresh of an old product.

Apple has stagnated since M1 and competitors are approaching their lead. I hope that a new focus on silicon cements the lead some more. Hopefully if Ternus takes over he renews this focus.
