Why would you want a worse screen? My iPhone 11 Pro Max has an OLED display and my M1 iPad Pro has mini-LED and, the mini-LED on the M1 iPad Pro is far superior.

The only downside is blooming issues, but I will take that for a better screen.
I wonder what's wrong with your phone? My iPhone X has a stunning display

The only feature I care about is if the new MacBook Pro can dual monitor a 4k monitor that can be scaled down. That's it. If they can't then I'll stick with my M1 MacBook Pro I have now because the M1 MacBooks are not worth much without the ability to dual monitor 4k screens where you can scale them down from their native 4k displays.

No more Intel MBPs in the lineup will leave a lot of developers without an upgrade path, forcing a switch to Linux.

Apple might keep an Intel 16" model around for a bit for "institutional" buyers like developers.

If (PC OEMs) can (cure OLED burn-in) I don't see why Apple couldn't

Don't see them commenting on OLED burn-in, really, and they certainly did not do any long-term testing.

There are ways to mitigate burn-in used on televisions (pixel shifting, screen refreshing, etc.) but not sure how practical they are on a laptop and if you look at an iPhone that has been on display for months at an Apple Store, you can see clear burn-in / image retention on the lower four icons (though to be fair, that phone is on for much of the day, seven days a week).

Needs to support dual 6K - XDR monitors as it's predecessor.

I agree, my iPhone 13 Pro has hands down the best display I've ever seen, I would take that any day over the iPad Pro's display.

The more 120Hz implemented in their devices the better. I just hope they can address the stuttering issues which make for an inconsistent mess. It’s so jarring on the 13 Pro when you are swiping around where it’s all pleasantly smooth but then all of a sudden you run into a stuttery janky animation. It’s such a stark contrast that ruins the otherwise smooth experience.

With 120Hz in their phones, iPads and now (hopefully) MacBooks, I hope it will make them focus on addressing these issues.
display refresh and GUI refresh rate are 2 separate things

I'm going to be the negative Nelly and doubt the news. Apple piece meals new technology, they don't release too much at one time.

However, if this is true, this will be one of the biggest MBP releases of all time. More ports, no more Touch Bar, 16GB RAM, and 120Hz display. I will order a 14" the day they are available with my company's money.

I'm a little out of the loop on the macbooks but would the 14 inch be replacing the 13 inch current model? With the 13 inch starting at $1299, could they really get rid of that model for the 14 inch with a significant price increase on it?

I feel like they need a model in the that 1299 range, that seems like a sweet spot.
The 13” M1 isn’t going anywhere any time soon.

I assume you mean on Macs? As Apple’s revenue from gaming is more than Sony, Nintendo and MS combined due to iOS in-app purchases which might remove incentive to do anything about Mac gaming.
That is a very good point that they make more money with iOS. However, your comment also implies that Mac computers would eat a significant portion of iOS gaming. I find this hard to believe, given PCs are a bigger market share than Macs, meaning more computers with gaming capabilities, and yet iOS still makes the money it does.

Definitely something I'm going to keep thinking about, tho. Great point.

It's either this or a new large iMac.
Though decision...
With a MBP I could work at the beach at full power. And got my 30Amp battery and Solar Panel, so I can stay there for days without needing to connect to the grid.
Bring the iMac to the beach and power it the same way. Seems like a better statement.
