Checked around at local Best Buy for any Open Box returns, they had one, a 42mm Space Gray for $370.99. Well I went there and waited around for nearly a half hour for someone to help me. Finally when someone did he made it $349.99 for my waiting around. He just offered it up, didnt ask for any more off. Now I also had $40 in Best Buy reward dollars to drop it down to $309.99 for me. I think thats a pretty good score. I've looked it all over, cosmetically its perfect, everything is working perfectly, too.
This makes it much more palatable to me at just over $300 than it does at $400.

Glad you got a good deal. But you can't really count the BB bucks as discount... So $50 off isn't bad.

I initially tried to buy an AW at BB and after waiting around for the Apple guy to wait on two other people... one that bought a Macbook, and the other an Apple TV... he told me he wasn't authorized to show me an AW. After a further wait while he searched the store for someone that was, he came back and said no one working that day could show me an AW.

I ended up buying a mint used SS with AC+ for about $200 less than new.

Holy hell that was a deal! I tried looking for something used on Craigslist but every one of them was more than retail. That's south Florida for you. I'm also getting another $30 back in rewards dollars from the purchase too so theres that.

If you ever buy anything expensive at bestbuy check eBay for movers coupons you can use online. They are 10% off a single item and usually cost around $10 on eBay.

The downside to open box is you cannot get AC+

I bought my 42mm SGS on Craigslist for $300, only a month old, still new condition. I then called in and added Apple Care.

I've used that before but they discontinued them. Now it's $5 off $50. Didn't think about getting one off eBay, but I think they date expire now anyways.

It's still $100 over prices at $300...
The number of returned watches much be huge as a proportion of sales.

Yeah I think it's still a little high, but at $300 it's now in line of higher end android wear watches.

I looked on CL but the where all retail or higher.
It's a mixed bag here in NC. Some people have no clue and list them for crazy prices on CL. There was one here that was similar price to what I paid but the seller was a little rude in emails so decided to go with the reputable commercial seller on Ebay. They were a regular seller of apple gear, responded to my emails immediately, had huge number of positive reviews, and a good return policy.

What's your basis for that? I've not seen any published return percentages, and it's selling in much higher numbers than the competition. You think it should be priced at $200?

All four other people i know with one (not on the web - real people ) have returned the watch. The only other person who i know with one and he hasn't is an apple employee.

While its not scientific by any measure its a poor indicator..
Honest answer, i think the watch in sport form is worth tops $150, $200 at a push with an extra band. (just my opinion).

I guess it's like anything else... I don't think new cars are worth what they are asking but it is what it is.

Totally agree with you on that. I almost always buy used cars. Oh wait.. I bought a used AW!

Seriously, I think all Apple stuff is a little over priced but I keep buying it and I'm happy with what I buy.
