5 new devices on the 12th

The 5 represented by the shadow of the date announced will represent the 5 new devices launching this fall from Apple.

(1) new iPhone
(2) new iPod Shuffle
(3) new iPod Nano
(4) new iPod Touch
(5) iPad Mini

the 5 could also mean 5 new features (although I'm sure there will be another 200+ features they just won't have time for ;)

(1) LTE
(2) Larger Screen
(3) Faster Processor
(4) in-cell technology for display
(5) iOS 6

I think the Nano was better when it had physical buttons. Most use it for the gym and working out. It was nice when you could change songs without looking at it.

The Classic is due for a capacity update. They can keep the form factor the same.

Maybe a 128GB iPod Touch too.

There will still be two events.

Yes I know there will be two events. But if all these ipods are announced with the iphone...it is sharing the spotlight. Are you saying the ipad mini and all this other crap will be at the 2nd event?

double click your earbuds and it changes songs. I also think you can double click the power button to skip songs too.

The iPad mini in the 2nd event, along with possibly a 13" Retina MBP and new iMac if they haven't been released by then.

iPods are old hat by now, they don't need their own event. Just a quick overview like they got in the 4S event last year. The Mini needs its own event because it's a brand new product.

This is exactly what I was hoping for when i saw the shadow of the 5. These three and the iPhone and iPad mini would make for 5 new devices to reveal. I sure hope they drop the "iPhone #" moniker

Agree. Like people have stated before, it makes sense to update all products to support the new dock connector. Would this mean from now on all these products will be updated at the same time since they will be this year? Just a thought.

Le sigh...although I am happy w/ the upgrade :D

New Nano = FAIL. Should at least work wirelessly with AirPlay. What's Apple losing to allow us to do that?

That being said, I think the 5th Gen Nano was the highlight of the line: one-hand ease of use, physical forward/backward, and could watch videos in a wide-screen view.

6th Gen Nano was cool for wearable technology and an unobtrusive set-it-and-forget-it kind of way, but it was hard to manipulate if you wished to change songs during a workout.
