Hopefully iTunes 11 will also be released.

people hope that the new revamped itunes 11 will be released this year....this was true last year as well; at that time the argument was made that since it will be itunes 10, a major revamp of itunes was inevitable...i still hope that those rumors from jan are true....

I could see ipod shuffle and nano updated along with iphone5, but do not expect ipod touch to be updated along with iphone5. Reason is touch cannibalizes iphone sales. Apple always staggers those product updates.

----------

I wish Apple would release an itunes 'light' that ditches everything besides music. No store, apps, books, or videos. Make it ultra fast for managing playlist and playing back music. The light version would sync with the full-blown version of itunes. Never going to happen though.

I heard they were getting rid of the clip on the new model of the nano. If thats the case i will probably just get the old model nano, since i really just want to use the nano for working out and the clip feature is great for that. Am i only one that doesnt think a iWatch is a good idea? Ive got a timex ironman and i could jump in a lake and probably run it over with a car and it will still work. Ive also heard about people stepping outside into rain/snow with an iwatch only to fInd it ruined from water damage later. So unless apple can make a more durable and water resistant nano i have no interest in an iwatch.

still using my 2nd gen 1GB shuffle - works just fine.

if Apple came out with a wifi shuffle that syncs over wifi so i don't have to use that obnoxious sync cable...count me in for the pre-order

Look like the next gen nano won't be able to be used as a watch if it has a home button and larger screen. Oh well, at least I already have my nano watch!

Could be an update to the classic. Multiple colors & larger SSD (for longevity, not speed, so a slow one would be fine - a 240GB SSD runs $100 less than a classic retail).

It would be nice to have an iPod Touch that doesn't crash

Maybe the new iPod Touch will actually work with iOS 5/6 without crashing Safari every two or three page loads.

I want a nano with bluetooth. Given the accelero-pedometer feature already present that would make the perfect runner's iPod -- tiny, no cables, perfect sound + run distance + calorie tracking via Nike+.

I just want a shuffle to clip on my shirt. I feel like I am paying extra money for the Nike features that I don't need, so will never buy a Nano.

I already own a Suunto Ambit, with a built-in GPS, altimeter, heart rate monitor strap. The data goes to the Suunto webpage app which has a lot of in-depth analysis. You can't get true calories burned without a heart rate strap across your chest, anyway. Wrist mounts are not as accurate and definitely cannot know how many breaths you take per minute. Runners will want this level of accuracy. You need to know your EPOC, recovery time, etc.

so if the source is true:
4gb ipod shuffle
8gb ipod nano (ditch the 16) or vice versa
32/64 new 5g ipod touch w/ 4" display
and --> 8gb 4g ipod touch (it's basically the old model, so is not mentioned in the rumor)

Perfect.:D

Yes, great idea. I'd buy that in a heartbeat.

It also needs an altimeter. You get a better workout with intervals (running up and down hills).

Dear Santa, please upgrade the Macbook Air's screen, or at least give me a matte option! Otherwise I'll have to buy a Thinkpad X1 carbon.

I wonder what will happen to the iPod classic. They haven't updated it since 2009 but they haven't discontinued it either, as they often do with underperforming products.

A special slot inside the upcoming iMac will accommodate the Classic, and then the iMac can boast a backup drive capability. :D

I hope the Nano will be wearable and have lifestyle/fitness functions, like the Jawbone Up, the Fitbit and the Nike sports watch. I've been holding off one of these in hopes there will be an all rounder

Just buy a heart rate monitor for fitness. Hybrid products do several things, but none of them well. Lots of good HRM for working out - Garmin, Polar, Suunto.

GPS nice for Nano. Still, If you're looking for a great new feature, why not a heart monitor to truly get the most out of workouts, logging of sleep data, etc.

If you look at the apple website:

One capacity: shuffle and classic
Two capacity: nano

So finally ipod classic will get new updates.

I hope that the Ipod touch 5th generation will be as good or better than the Iphone 4 or 4S in terms of power, feature etc but of course without the calling part.

So with all the parts leaking for the iphone, and well... nothing for any other product, do people think it's realistic to expect a plethora of new devices?

iPad mini, we haven't seen so much as a case design.

They've already staggered the iPod Touch for two years now, that A4 processor and 256MB RAM is pretty weak these days.

iPod Touch is a different market than the iPhone. I doubt anyone really looking into the iPhone is thinking about getting the iPod Touch instead.

Rather the iPod Touch is marketed for people like me that already have a suitable phone and just want a iOS device or for people too young/irresponsible to pay for and own an iPhone.

Well the iPod Touch may be sharing the iPhone components, its not too unrealistic for these parts to go under the radar. I mean the outside casing doesn't even have to necessarily change just the front or perhaps (unlikely) the iPod Touch design is identical to the iPhone subtract the cellular support.

Besides the iPods aren't Apple's babies anymore, the iPhone and iPad devices are. There is more interest with the iPhone leaks, iPad leaks than there are with iPod leaks.

I'm pretty sure there were supposed leaks of the shell design for the iPad Mini a few months ago but yeah there isn't much leaks happening on that front which makes one wonder that either the product may not be happening at all or Apple has successfully kept it on the down low.

I remember last year there were a bizillion rumors of the iPhone getting a bigger screen, yet when it was all said and done what we got was just a iPhone 4 version 2.

Truth be told the biggest "want" from the iPod line for me is capacity updates.
Classic has maxed out at 160GB for 5 years now
Nano has maxed out at 16GB for 4 years now
Touch has maxed out at 64GB for 3 years now
Shuffle actually was downgraded with the latest update from 4GB to 2GB, still didn't understand this one unless size was a issue.
...
You can't possibly tell me that flash prices (nano/touch/shuffle) are the same price as they were at least 3 years ago. I see no reason why the touch isn't at 128GB (save for trying to push customers to that lame iCloud service) or that the iPod Nano isn't at least 32GB.

I remember last year, there was lots of speculation and mock ups based on cases, but pretty much the only leaked parts were from a suspected iphone 4 refresh (most thought a cheaper 8GB version).

This year all parts leak are pointing towards a taller iphone 5 release, but there isn't enough to suspect an ipad mini.

If we can buy 120GB to 240GB for these prices I would have to believe Apple can get them for a worthwhile price. Another reason you think there would be a storage bump in some of the other players. At this point you think 32GB would be the lowest can even that hardly cost anything these days.

So does this mean there actually will be 5 products including the new iPhone?

This is exactly what I was hoping for when i saw the shadow of the 5. These three and the iPhone and iPad mini would make for 5 new devices to reveal. I sure hope they drop the "iPhone #" moniker
