Considering the rumors were more often wrong than right for the March 8 event, I wouldn’t put any belief in the newest ones. Gurman’s credibility is gone, and so is that of most of the guessers. The Apple secret squirrel security force has finally managed to lock them out of the loop.
As far as the Mac mini, an educated guess based on past history is that it might see an upgrade bump this year, but not to the point of competing with the iMac or Studio. It will likely get an M2 when they come out, if they come out. It probably won’t get a M1/M2 Pro or M1/M2 Max chip because they want us to buy more expensive computers if we go mid-level, and they want to keep the mini as an entry level.
