Up Next?

Really happy that the remote feature allows us to queue up songs with the "Up Next" feature. Why in the world is this not a part of the Music app??? It defies explanation why such a great feature was just ignored in iOS 7.

Well you can control volume and next track and look at the album playing on iTunes radio under "now playing". That was always there I was hoping more to change stations at least the ones you save under my stations. :( hopefully they are working on that as it seems people do like to switch stations they are listening to and it would be helpful

Yes! And it's been in the Remote app for a while actually. We need this ASAP in Music app but I fear they won't give it to us till iOS 8. It seems like they've just forgotten

Wow. Quite the sexy app. Love how it takes the colours from the album artwork.

iTunes visualiser is looking dated though. Needs an update!

Itunes 10

Does the new remote work with iTunes 10? I have IOS 7 on my iPad but don't want to change to iTunes 11.

I wish that Apple would make the Remote app's UI the UI for the stock Music app. I love how it mirrors iTunes 11 in appearance.

Good update. Definitely feels more responsive and stable, and the Up Next editing feature is cool. That icon is terrible though -- simplified is one thing, but elegant it is not. And the white/blue scheme makes it too similar to the Safari icon.

I think I use Remote more than just about any other Apple app, but it seems like it has always been an afterthought for Apple. I would have loved to see Remote player controls integration into the Control Center -- having to constantly switch apps just to skip a song is irritating. I guess Apple still thinks most people listen to music primarily on their iPhone, and I do when I'm out, but not when at home.

I like it. It was nice to get the Podcasts app updated as well - even though I barely use it. Only a few more iOS 7 app updates to go now...

iPad - Yes.
iPhone - No.

I wish the music app didn't have landscape mode on iphone...or that you could turn it off at least. It's an impractical way of picking music for me. (I have a large Library)

But can it play iTunes Radio from my Mac to my home stereo system through my Airport Express like I can from my iPhone or iPad?

iRadio?

I'm looking around for evidence of controlling iRadio, but I don't see it.
Does anyone else?

If an iRadio station is already playing on iTunes or AppleTV I can control volumne, skip, etc. BUt I don't see a way to changes stations or select a station to play from the beginning.

The old remote app should still be available to download if you're on iOS 6.

This is true, but any future updates—whether its bug fixes or new features—will only be available on iOS 7 or later.

There are still many apps in the store that only require 4.3 or 5.1. But all of Apple's latest app updates require iOS 7, and many other developers are dropping pre-iOS 7 support at an alarming rate.

are you able to control iTunes Radio with the new Remote app?

It seems just like the old version - if iRadio is already playing on iTunes or aTV you can control it via "Now Playing" but when you click BACK, it takes you back to Genius Mixes. There is no icon for iRadio, no way to changes stations, or launch iRadio. :(

iPad - Yes.
iPhone - No.

This is the one oddity to me with Apple apps, the seemingly arbitrary landscape option on iPs/iPTs.

Landscape: Mail, Browser, Photos, Music, Calendar

No Landscape mode: Podcasts, Remote, Weather, Reminders

Some landscape modes are clever and really optimize the wider viewing experience like Cal switching from daily to weekly, some are confusing as hell like music switching from a UI with controls to a collage of album covers ...

I had actually wondered when iOS7 was first announced if a landscape Springboard mode was going to be introduced - since going from landscape-to-portrait-to-landscape is a bit funky, though the new task switcher works nicely in landscape (funny that the orientation in the preview “sticks” to the last used orientation...)

OK, enough of that ... :D

Yeah, I’d prefer just a portrait based view, with maybe some additional controls/up-next preview, etc., in the extra width.

AppleTV AirPlay Control?

Still not sure why you can't select AirPlay speakers from directly within Remote with an AppleTV, but you can iTunes...
