Upgrade from 3G?

I went back and forth on this so any times. I thought I've always liked black but white is different. Then I thought about the popularity for the white model and I tend to shy away from things which seem popular with the masses. Then I questioned how much soil seems more pronounced on white. I thought about the white Apple keyboard and how grundgy it can look unless i clean it periodically. So, I stuck with the black again The white was pretty though. In the end it all boils down to personal preference.

I think you deserve the 4S at this stage!! I had the 3G and broke it about 3 months ago... Waited it out for the 4S with some ancient brick phone, and due for delivery between the 3rd and 9th! Kinda hoping Im not disappointed with the 4S at this stage!!

i'd say hold onto your iPhone 3G for another year if you want a redesigned iPhone, or you can get the 4S now and be happy with it


and i seriously doubt Steve Jobs last project is the iPhone 5, you forget this man was a GENIUS and probably planned ahead to the iPhone 10S

In the context of which you've asked, I would wait.

The likelihood of the next phone being redesigned is extremely high. It's also been widely reported it's going to have the A6 chip. A CPU that will carry the iPhones through two product cycles. That along with many other possibilities are the reasons I'm waiting.

Even worse case scenario still leaves you with a better, more desirable phone than the modest 4S, and does buy you the last iPhone Steve was directly involved with.

I have a very good feeling the upcoming iPhone is really going to be the one to have. And that makes it well worth waiting for.

The 4S is merely a modest placeholder till the next phone is released. The experience my wife has had with hers has been less than one would expect from Apple. Between having the first one quit dead from a bad battery, to having small buggy issues with it's replacement. The only remarkable aspect is the replacements excellent battery life.

Based on all the bugs reported in the threads here, by credible enthusiasts, I would avoid the 4S.

anyone who has a 3G should upgrade at least to a 4, or 4S. I just went 3G --> 4S. It's awesomely fast now.
