This process has got me thinking.
Last time I did this, I had to update my mac mini to Sonoma. Now it required Sequoia.

Upgrading/replacing the storage on an Intel mac with the T2 chip requires a second mac, to run the Restore process in DFU mode.
Apple thereby push the line incrementally further along. Or force the user to bring the mac physically to a shop that can provide the service.
I did not wish to upgrade to macOS Sequoia, and definitely not to macOS Tahoe. With the AI focused software.
