In fact if I log out of my Amazon account they re-appear for sale.
And the equipment I bought arrived.
It's a joke, but I hope it happens to everyone.

I was quite excited during this process, to be honest. We went in and out of the box 😁

This is why I recommend anyone who are planning to purchase a used Mac Pro 2019, to first consider the installed internal storage size. All other upgrades are fairly easy to do at a later time. Except for the Radeon Pro W6900x, which is at least as difficult to find as the 8TB kit.

I suggest you keep an eye on this ebay seller in United Arab Emirates. He has brand new kits for sale at times.
I purchased my 8TB kit from him. Highly recommended.
You will have to pay import duties when it arrives at the customs. I appreciate that, in light of my resent import woes from the US.

US customers will probably have better options within the US

Ordering from ebay US, is no longer an option for me. Starting this year, the carriers have billed me the tax plus fee. Despite the fact that ebay calculate the tax, and included it in the purchase.
I just got a package that is being returned to the seller. I contacted the carrier, and requested them to check, as I already paid the tax.
Seems the ebay agent that exports the goods, doesn't do the electronic registration correctly.
And my ebay bill and bank reciept does not help :( They will not even look at it.

This is precisely the fate of Turkey's geography... When you try to buy anything and everything from abroad, the tax (tribute) is 1.5 times the price of the product. The seller is already withholding tax. PayPal is banned, Ebay is banned, there was alibaba and they went through it. In short, the philosophy is that you don't buy anything from outside, you buy from the immoral shopkeepers in the country.

When I found these kits on amazon, it was like a miracle for me. If you look at what I have already written, you will understand how cautious and trusting I am. People in this damn place have unfortunately brought us to this state.

What is very interesting is that this time the product (ssd kit) is sold here (in Turkey) at a price that can be called free compared to outside...

How ironic and a joke...

Be sure that I did not share the product here to my environment (except 1-2 very close friends). Because if the unscrupulous tradesmen hear this, they will melt the stocks and put them in the ad at 1500 usd. I'm serious about this.

I hope everyone has the best. All I want is for everyone to live happily and peacefully and complete their lives without needing anyone...

Regards...

I have four, 2019 Mac Pro's, and I was selling one. I swapped out the internal drive to install a 1 TB kit for the buyer. The DFU process blew out the bottom PCIe slot, so that really sucked. I haven't been able to get it to work again. Would love to hear thought's from anyone on why this would happen or how to solve it. After a million reboots, the PCIe slot actually worked one time, and then stopped working again, so I feel like there is a chance to solve it. I already tried different video cards (both MPX and PC), cleaning the slot, reseating the card, PRAM reset, SMC reset, removing the battery, installing different versions of macOS, and installing the latest Tahoe Beta.

HELPFUL NOTE - I learned when doing Internet Recovery, it works much better to connect your ethernet cable to an ethernet dongle plugged into a USB port. For some reason, recovery doesn't work well, or at all, when using the built-in ethernet ports. It's smooth as butter every time I use an ethernet dongle.

*If only we could figure out a way to bypass having to have an internal Apple SSD, altogether. It sucks to think if it fails, it bricks the whole machine.

So this SSD kit replacement is such an annoying thing. You shouldn't think about the worst while doing the procedure.

By the way, could static electricity or something like that be the cause? Because most of us disconnect the power cable (while the machine is off) by touching a metal part on the machine and cutting the power. Then we hold down the power button for 5-10 seconds to completely drain the electricity from the system. I'm so sorry to hear that, and I'm glad you were able to fix it.
Also, your comment about the Ethernet connection was very interesting to me. I made a note of that too. Knowledge is power.

By the way, here (Amazon Turkey) the price of the 4TB kit has dropped to $250. It sounds like a joke, but yes. In fact, at one point, the mpx 5600 module had dropped to $120-130.

Currently, the price of a 4TB SSD has returned to its normal level (over $1,000).

Take care.

If I ever work inside the unit I have a special cable;
An old kettle lead from which I clipped out the neutral and live wires and removed the fuse from the plug and then put green and yellow heat shrink all over it for easy ident.
I unplug the normal lead, switch off the wall socket and then plug in my earth only lead.

Man, why is this so hard?

Good catch though, thankyou. Just so I can tell, how did you tell? I can't see that number anywhere.

Make a list of 2019 Mac Pro part numbers or you gonna make the same mistake again :)

That's cool I can do that but where did you you see that number in the listing? I must have Mr Magoo eyes?

Not too dificult to find the Item model number opening your link with the Amazon app:

I used a ground strap and I'm very careful when working inside any computer. My guess is I tried to boot up the internal SSD, taken from another Mac, without doing the DFU process first. Now, I will always do that as well as removing all internal PCIe cards prior (except the top Thunderbolt/USB IO card).

The bottom PCIe slot simply doesn't work anymore. I actually saw it recognize a video card just one time after 40+ tries, so I believe it could be fixed.

Turns out it was easier for me to just by a completely new computer.
So included in the deal I have 48GB more RAM than I had previously, an MPX module 2 notches up the scale from the original one I had and 4 more processor cores.
Once I've sold my original one I'll get a handle on how much the 'upgrade' actually cost me.

I assume this will be the case in many instances. And probably cheaper, if you manage to sell the old one. Individual parts tend to go for higher prices, or not offered at all.
Just a shame that Apple make it a PITA to service your own kit but I suppose this has never been a secret.

All part of the plan to get you to buy the latest tech that is even more locked down. ;)

Then you can spend even more.
Unfortunately in my case, it's backfired. A lot of the devices I connect to in industrial electronics run on Windows, (yes it has its own embedded operating system that is something else), but to communicate with it you need Windows.
I have an M processor Macbook Pro but for some I have to revert to my dual booting Mid 2015 Macbook Pro running Windows 10, (which it seems to run pretty much as well as most Windows laptops I've had experience of), as the ARM version of Windows will not work due to driver issues.

I'm looking to buy a second hand Macbook Pro 16" 2019 before they become unavailable. Admittedly I can't see the Apple development roadmap changing due to me purchasing a few second hand computers.

how do you connect to the said electronics? USB or is it serial or something else entirely?

I had a similar problem with an external DAC requiring Windows to set EQ presets and stuff like that so I said "f*ck it" and reverse engineered it. It was quite satisfying and educational.

Any reason for going with a 2019 intel MBP as opposed to a random used thinkpad? is it a requirement to also run macOS or a personal preference?

Hullo, virtually all, (in excess of 90%), connect over serial, usually DB9 but sometimes USBB or micro.
Everything else I have runs a Mac OS of some flavour and in general I just find them not only nicer to use but also much easier to manage as I'm far more proficient in the Mac environment.
The MacBook pro has an intel processor and thus no such issues although I'm wondering if down the line the TPM requirement may scupper me, (I think it will but that I have some years left on the Mac yet).
But yes, personal prefs really.
