I kept my stainless steel and still ordered the series 2. I'm handicapped and use the pool a lot and the waterproofing just to good to pass up. And what can I say there are times I just plain forget to charge my watch and like having a back up as my heart needs be monitored most of the time .

If my first apple "time piece" was SS I would have kept it as a show piece of sorts but it was a sport so off to the moms it goes! Would be cool if there was something that set apart the SS and link from last gen from this gen like maybe a new clasp on the bracelet or something i dunno pre-coffee rambles

Posted on FB this morning that I would soon have a watch and a 6+ for sale. By lunch, both were spoken for.

Selling watch without band for $300... I like all my bands and want to keep them. The friend who is buying it has her eyes on a new black/gray nylon band.

Why would you sell a watch for $300 when your friend could get a new one with a band starting at $269? With the new processor too!

Never selling my first watch. I even have a family member who desperately wants one and i'm just gonna buy one for her.
This watch was my first Apple product that I have ever pre-ordered. It has held up well since I stayed up all night to order it and get it on release day. 42mm Space Gray sport.

I'm ordering the series 2 SS Space Black. Just wish it had more bands.

My Apple Watch died last Sunday, bit annoying as I bought it 2nd hand back in February (cheap because I wasn't sure I was going to make use of it), unfortunately it was an original launch watch so the warranty's expired. Contacted Apple and they wanted £176 to 'service' it. I decided it was better to just buy a new Series 2 with AppleCare+.

It's been 1 week without it so far and I've missed it a lot, keep looking at my wrist, no tracking on my workouts, really looking forward to getting the new one!

That's a bummer. What did it start to do? Just not turn on anymore?

Last Sunday I took it off charge, put it on, did a stand goal, read some WhatsApp notifications, all was fine.

Went and had breakfast. Afterwards went to check the time, screen didn't come on, tapped the screen, pressed the buttons, nothing! Tried holding down both buttons for the 10 seconds which didn't do anything. Thought perhaps the battery hadn't charged so put it back on the charger, after 10-20 minutes it was fairly hot, much hotter than normal, and it still wouldn't turn on.

So that was that! There were no warning signs, it was perfectly fine and then it was dead...

Sucks because I ditched a lot of money to get the SS Space Black watch. Now, I want to upgrade to the second Gen with the GPS, but I don't want to sell any bands really. The link bracelet is already like $500 on Apple's website, so I don't want to rid of that. I'd have to just sell the watch and not the band. I'd be willing to let the watch go for a good price as I take care of my things, and not really sure who'd want to buy the watch w/out the bands. All the bands I own I want for the Series 2. What would you think would be a reasonable price for the watch w/out the bands, and where could I sell it besides eBay?

Maybe sacrifice a cheap sport band to help it sell as a complete looking watch?

Makes sense. I mean, I could always part with a band and then just go buy it again. Duh! I should've thought about that. LOL! Now just trying to figure out what would be a reasonable price to sell it at!

There are plenty of quality but inexpensive bands on Amazon for like $10

Looks more and more like I will keep it and hope watchOS 3 will make it fast enough for me. Can't seem to sell current AW.

Thinking of giving ours away to a friend or relative. Might keep the original bands however for the Series 2.

I sold my 42mm Sport one week before the announcement for $270!

Must have been one gullible sucker.

38mm Stainless are $249 at Best Buy, but I still see your point.

Maybe I'm super cheap but I'd rather have a Series 1 with upgraded processor for $269 vs. a Stainless steel for $249. Would you rather make a fashion statement or have a better experience with a tech gadget? These watches are not precious time pieces; their disposable tech gadgets.
Apple makes no promises to keep these watches updated for years to come.

I see your point too. I honestly don't know what I'd rather have. While I wouldn't mind having a sport as an extra, I really like the stainless and stainless black so I really only consider them.

Choosing Aluminum vs. SS also depends on what band you want to use. The SS link bracelet and Milanese wouldn't look right with Aluminum. We mixed and match at the Apple Store, and I wanted it to work out with the Aluminum. Having the sapphire crystal is a nice bonus as it does prevent scratches better than the other display material. With SS you get fine line scratches although I don't have any on mine which means you have to be quite rough to get scratches. On the Aluminum it chips instead of scratching. I have no idea why the SS has a ceramic back vs. the composite back on the Aluminum though.

If you think of AW as a combo tech device and fashion watch, then the SS can sort of pull it off. If you think of the AW as only a tech device, then go Aluminum. Why go ceramic Edition watch? It's scratch proof??

Milanese Loop with Watch Sport looks fine. We've got one, and so has plenty of other forum members since launch last year. Link Bracelet, maybe not.

Hmmm, maybe I'll get the Silver Aluminum Case with Pearl Woven Nylon for $399. The Stainless Steel Case with White Sport Band is $599.
