UPS says my iPhone will arrive tomorrow

I called UPS asking the status of my package, and asked when it is supposed to be delivered.

He told me it shipped next day and the package went out today (which is true according to the tracking) and should arrive tomorrow before 3PM EST.

I told him this is the iPhone 5, and asked if there were any restrictions for Friday? He said no, the restrictions are for items shipped via Standard Shipping. Mine shipped via "Holiday Shipping". I even told him on my end it says 4 days left (Friday) and he said that is weird, his system says one more day (tomorrow) and that it was in my city.

On the tracker, it is still sitting in Illinois.

He gave me his extension incase it doesn't come tomorrow. He seemed pretty positive.

Should I be pumped? Anyone else have this experience? If this is true. I AM PUMPED.

I'd be very surprised if you got it. Apple has told the shipping companies not to deliver the items until Friday 9-21 and unless they want to lose their business they will oblige Apple regardless of what type of shipping was selected. His system may show that but once it actually arrives and the facility and gets scanned in the status will probably change to hold it until Friday. There is the chance they may mess up though; I think it was with the iPhone 4 someone accidentally got theirs a day early.
 
Where is all the doubt in this thread coming from? Every year a good chunk of people have been getting their phones 1-2 days early. I wouldn't think 3 days early would be outside the realm of possibility at all.

You have a good point. Heck, if it is in my city, it will be able to be picked up tomorrow (assuming they let me) and be off and running. Guess I will be putting up a signed note tomorrow saying to leave it. :)

God..school is going to DRAG tomorrow. LOL.

Really? Did they ever do 1 day shipping before?

I doubt this because if they could deliver it before 9/21 why do 1-day shipping in the first place?

Apple puts a hold these things. They can't be released from the warehouse without at least one delivery attempt anyways I believe.

I'm sure any CS agent would be able to look at the same information he did, he just asked for my tracking information. Others could try calling and seeing what it says on their system too.
 
This reminds me of last year. Sorry, but Apple will have it held for a Friday delivery. People got their hopes up last year only to have them crash and burn once reality set and their tracking info was updated.
