UPS told me my address on license has to match to pickup

I think they'll let you pick it up if you have a utility of credit card bill with the same address and then you show them government ID to confirm your name and stuff!
I would take whatever some customer support guy said with a grain of salt. I find it hard to beleive that if you showed up with with all the documents, maybe even bringing some sort of utility/credit card bill as well, that they would deny you.
I just don't understand why a student ID with a picture and name (and no address) would work but a DL with a picture and name (but old address) won't work?
My ID did not match my address when I picked up a package before. The lady just asked for a second form of photo ID, so I showed her my school ID. None of my ID had the actual address I needed. I think you'll be fine. Worse comes to worse, just bring your birth certificate, passport, etc. Better safe than sorry 
Not trying to be a dick but your MR name explains a lot. You're learning what a pain in the ass a simple address change can cause you.
Can you get it shipped to your current address? As in, the billing account address?

Did you go to the DMV and make the address change? In my state, they give you a paper temporary license so you can present it with the out of date/expired ID.
Because they are using a double layer to try and establish who you are. If you tried to pick up with JUST a student ID, is that going to work?
It's security. If you don't understand that, I dunno what to tell ya. It would be WAY too easy to ship illegal/stolen stuff to the "wrong" address, re-route it, show up with one form of ID, and steal it.
Either play by their rules, or have it delivered to the address YOU chose. If not, Apple will gladly accept the return and work something out for you.

So a DL with my picture an old address + Social Security Card isn't double layer?
Your location says California, from what I remember when you go to the DMV to change your address or get a new licence after you move from out of state they give you a temporary paper one, bring that in and you'll be fine.
I have a receipt from the DMV showing I'm getting an updated license but it doesn't show the address. The piece of paper actually says to carry a Handwritten note with your license indicating your new address until you get the new license. Gotta love CA

Picture ID is a double layer. SS Card has your name, but the DL picture could have been fabricated.

now ups is saying oh yeah your DL and birth cert/social sec should be ok, no matter the address.

Like I said. Not trying to be a dick, but your MR name is spot on for you.
You just don't get the idea of two issued photo IDs in the real world.
Of course you can fabricate anything in the world and make it say what you want or else we would NEVER be able to pick anything up from UPS.
This is a security requirement they use from DECADES of experience and not just something done to inconvenience you so you can come on MacRumors, start a thread, and ask, "WTF?".

lol, you had plenty of time to get a change of address sticker which most states provide immediately upon you filing a change of address, or a brand new license. It appears that you moved and never bothered with a change of address.
Now you have two different answers from the same company. You must hope where you go to pick it up accepts what you have been told on the phone.
