Me either. UPS needs better communication. Many people posted about calling UPS to see why the shipments were delayed and they got the runaround, with no good answers. The tracking system feels antiquated; missed scans and what seems to be only a few options of status updates.
I understand that planes break down, bad weather happens. But have better communication with your customers! Now that a lot of the shipments are on the move again, the system doesn't seem to be able to determine a delivery date. I need to know the delivery date so I can put the pre-signed paperwork on my door.

I especially agree with your statement about poor communications. They need to operate with more transparency to their performance problems. On the ground for 2 days with "Mechanical Issues" and "Adverse Conditions" - Service your planes more often with all your "Fuel Surcharges" since the price of oil is so low!

I call total and absolute BS on that story!

This exact thing is happening with my wife phone. It was stuck in Korea for like 2 days, then went to Hong Kong and said there was weather delays.

This is the most frustrating experience I have ever had with UPS, it shipped out on 9/19 and was originally estimated at 9/21 delivery then pushed back to 9/22 then 9/23 and now it does not list a date. They've given me the mechanical error and the severe weather delay. If you look at the weather in Southeast Asia it has been clear skies all week. I pray they will deliver it tomorrow. Please. I am impatient as ****

Perhaps if people didn't act as if their life were coming to an end due to a phone shipment delay they wouldn't lie to you about it. If I were on the other end I would probably lie as well if some mouth breather was screaming at me over a stupid phone. I wonder if some of you here actually get out much and interact with the world.

This is why I don't bother calling in, not like calling and bitching is going to make the phone magically get from China any faster. I've been tracking it, hoping it comes sooner than it has but calling and complaining and saying the sky is falling and if Steve were alive this wouldn't happen etc won't fix the issue, I'm sure Apple is aware of the issues without people clogging up the customer service lines as they have access to much more detailed tracking information than we have.

Speaking for myself - I did not take my frustration out on the UPS Customer Service person: It's not THEIR fault, they're just trying to help. Much like I do not penalize the server who brings me an improperly cooked meal.

Treat them with kindness and respect as they are just performing their job. Put the President of UPS on the line and I'd really unload on him - he's ultimately responsible for the performance of UPS and he has to earn that salary!

Yeah not buying that. "Severe weather" when the weather reporting services all say it's in the mid-70s and clear?

Mine is still saying they can't figure out a delivery time. Yet the delivery planner shows yesterday is when it was arriving. Apple: how about finding a carrier that can do this right? My 6+ was a mess like this too.

Rational behavior is hard to find around here when it comes to launch day. I remember reading threads where people were calling UPS to check the status of the flight itself, never made a bit of sense to me. My wife's iPhone 7 was delayed by a day (they said they couldn't find my house, they deliver every other day), but they showed up Saturday, thanked the guy and he was on his way as were we. It just makes me cringe thinking people love material things so much they will treat other people like trash when every single expectation is not met ... mind boggling. Glad you two are rational!

I don't believe a word UPS says. Besides the fact they screwed up royally. Just picked up my wife's phone at UPS CC. Has the exact same time stamps up to Incheon as mine that I'm still waiting for.

Interesting, so i got mine yesterday but initially was scheduled for Wednesday delivery then got postponed to Thursday and i had the same interesting holdup from 9/19 to 9/21. I did, incidentally get mine Thursday before noon (was scheduled for afternoon, but arrived earlier than scheduled to my door). But this part nearly matched yours, after that, it was smooth sailing. Note the 9/19 through 9/22 portion... but no weather hold up for me. Bizarre?

Oh, also, my wife's gold one arrived on launch day as scheduled with none of these 'delays' at all. So, it's all... "fascinating".

... (etc) - got it.

Yes I also checked the weather and all reports for the region are fine with no severe weather. Besides the severe weather delay populated days after I was supposed to have already received the package. Prior to that my delivery date kept changing for no indicated reason, and despite being signed up for notifications none have ever came. UPS seems to have no idea what is going on either or where the packages are. They told me when I spoke with them last that the package was in the US even though online stated it was still in China.... Currently no arrival date is posted. I kind of wonder if the whole severe weather delay is fake to try and hide their tracking process completely breaking down in hopes that less people call in. And how can they confirm that the packages have not made any regressive stops along the way if they cant tell us when they will be arriving. Mine shows to have checked in and out of china about 8 times, then to korea, and back to china...very frustrating. UPS has never delivered a package to me on time. I had the same issue with 2 separate ipad pro orders, my iphone 6s, and original Apple watch, and oculus rift. Always at least one day late.

I agree; however, I took a half-day off work so that I'd be home to sign for the shipment. My 7 is showing the weather delay and now I have no idea when it will arrive. I won't pre-sign for a shipment with this much value; if it doesn't show today, I'll have to make arrangements to have it held at the local UPS warehouse I guess.

The weather excuse is bs. I checked the same sources the UPS air dispatch uses... there was no severe weather anywhere along the shipping routes. If the aircrew was past the allowable flight time then just admit it. No need for making up stuff.

The first time you hit Severe Clear Air Turbulence at FL380 doing 500 knts, you had better not be on the pot. :apple:

Really? It's in the mid-70s and clear everywhere your shipment might have been? Clearly something's wrong here, but you do understand a shipment may be delayed by severe weather that you yourself don't experience, right?

Man you need to get on a work from home gig ;)

I can understand that though, I had a time where Time Warner was coming out to install service and they just didn't bother to show. They credited my account a few bucks but it was still very annoying.

Hmm.. I wonder what that could be. Could it be a cargo plane with a bunch of deliveries that had issues and was unable to fly as scheduled?

The two flights were both 744-Freighters. One had a mechanical issue on the ground, the other hit Heavy Turbulence and turned back. A B-744-F can hold 300,000 iPhone7's at max load. UPS's common practice is to load 100-150,000 phones and other cargo. I would imagine the above mentioned planes had a minimum of 150,000. Personally I give credit to the Freight Dogs. It's tough enough worrying about some Dumb Ass sneaking a Li-ion device in the hold let alone sitting on top of 150,000 for 12hrs over open ocean. :apple:

How long did it take from KY to your place? And if you don't mind me asking, what state are you in? I am trying to sort out when I can expect mine (currently in AK).

My Apple Watch Series 2 was caught up in the same problem. Luckily UPS handled it very well. The scheduled delivery is a day earlier than Apple predicted. Now I'll have my watch on Monday.

Apple especially came through for me. Delivery dates for my preorder were October 10-21 (3-5 weeks). Here we are a whole month early.
