Geez, by the time y'all get your phones delivered I'll be upgrading to the all new 7s from my now Black 7.

Mechanical failures happen.

Absolutely. All the bitching and accusatory verbiage by Arm Chair Logistics Experts in here is akin to waiting for a diaper change. UPS this, UPS that. WTF, you think it's easy working with Apple? Have any of you ever been responsible for for delivering 30 million phones in 4 months? Uh huh, didn't think so. Just stop you belly aching and be patient. This thread is like listening to a bunch of spoiled children pissed off that the "Ice Cream Man" had a flat, and will be a day late with their Fudgesicle. Don't Talk the Talk, until you've Walked the Walk. :apple:

This is a $950 ice cream bar . Its ok if its delayed 1 day or 2 , but if you are left in the dark on when it will exactly come, it may come next week, or lied to with "severe weather" when you could see clearly it was sunny in the 70s, and no one is much help when you call in, then there is a reason to complain no? With such a successful company , we expect the service to be up to par to their products. I haven't had a bad experience until this time, but we are all here to share , and its good knowing that we aren't the only ones experiencing this.

Appears UPS just wasn't up to the task at hand, this year. I'm sure Apple learned a lesson about low bids not always carrying the day.

In the same boat here as many of you. Mine was supposed to be delivered Wednesday but never showed up. When I checked online it was stuck in Korea. Called UPS and got no answers, but then the website updated with the weather issue.

Now it has left Alaska as of 3PM local time. But I still have no estimated delivery date on their website. I guess I'll have to follow it closely through UPS so I can make sure I don't miss it. Guessing it will come in early next week.

Yeah not buying that. "Severe weather" when the weather reporting services all say it's in the mid-70s and clear?

Mine is still saying they can't figure out a delivery time. Yet the delivery planner shows yesterday is when it was arriving. Apple: how about finding a carrier that can do this right? My 6+ was a mess like this too.

According to Hong Kong Observatory, there is indeed a tropical cyclone in the area now.......

Except, it is just waaaaaaaaaaaaay out there in the open waters outside of the Philippines!
So if the cyclone is causing shipping delays, it must be a cyclone of unprecedented magnitude!;)

Just got a random email from apple, looks like their email system is messing up, none of the information showed up:

${CARRIERNAME} has informed us that your ${PRODUCTONE} will now be delivered on ${SHIPRANGE}. We apologize for the inconvenience.

Visit <CARRIER NAME> with your tracking number: XXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXX for the latest up-to-date information.

How weird!

Latest: this is a pretty epic fail. Apple just sent me this mail:

${CARRIERNAME} has informed us that your ${PRODUCTONE} will now be delivered on ${SHIPRANGE}. We apologize for the inconvenience.

Visit ${CARRIERNAME} with your tracking number: [actual tracking number] for the latest up-to-date information.

Test that mail-merge? Nah, just hit "send".

At least the phones are in the US. Progress I guess.

Yesterday, we reported that some iPhone 7 and iPhone 7 Plus shipments have experienced irregular movement or delays during delivery between China or South Korea and their final destinations in the United States.

UPS has since confirmed to MacRumors that a small number of deliveries were impacted due to a mechanical problem and weather delay, while it is still investigating the reason for erroneous tracking notices.Apple began accepting iPhone 7 and iPhone 7 Plus pre-orders on September 9, and it took less than 20 minutes for supplies of popular models to begin selling out. iPhone 7 Plus and Jet Black models have been most constrained, but some customers originally quoted October to November delivery dates for Jet Black iPhone 7 Plus models have seen their orders ship sooner than expected.

Apple wrote to say that my phone has been delayed and it will arrive (apple has no clue) of course after tracking neither does UPS

My Jet Black 128 GB 7+ has been "preparing for shipping" for a week. I called yesterday (Thursday, 9/22) and today (Friday, 9/23) about it, as I am leaving at 0800 Tuesday 9/27 for a vacation, so wanted to try and get by Monday. Since my watch said standard shipping, I was concerned that whenever it finally shipped, It'd take 3 days to get to me, and I needed overnight. They said both times that I don't need to change shipping as "we are trying to get you your watch as fast as we can, they are ALL going overnight, and even using Saturday delivery. Wouldn't you know it...it finally shipped tonight, UPS hasn't caught up yet, but, Apple says arrives by 9/30, which means I miss it, after waiting all this time. I had to wait almost 2 months for the (space black) watch gen 0 (just got the gen 2 in 9 days) and, while I agree that any UPS' delays are not the fault of Apple, the fact that they had insufficient stock for launch (i ordered within 4 minutes of opening).

I don't know if this is the continuing result of Angela Ahrendts' screwing up things, or some other change in Apples service to the public attitude, but, I'm getting pretty tired of the delays (ones due to insufficient stock). They have proven they can do better, and they need to. I doubt seriously they underestimate ANYTHING, and they'd know that we'll buy all that they make of everything, at least for the first six months, and any over-estimate or stockage...won't last long at all. That may not be what the "modern logistics guidance" is, but, it should be part of "good old American fairness and customer service".

Our phones must be in the same shipment! My UPS tracking is saying the exact same thing. I called UPS yesterday and they tried to give me the "Severe Weather" line until I called them on it and quoted the weather in Incheon to them. I can't wait to see where in SE Asia my phone travels tomorrow! They need to get their paperwork and act together!!
It was, supposedly, the hurricane/tropical storm conditions over the Atlantic, not weather IN China or Korea. Planes (not just UPS) diverted north, going through Korea, to avoid. I don't really believe all of that, or that the wait had to be so long, but, I've heard the same story, with more explanation from a FedEx shipment I've been waiting a LONG time for...so, some truth there...

My iPhone has been on a similar/same delayed journey as others in this thread. However it finally looks like my shipment has made it to AK yesterday and now in KY.Saturday. So I expect it will be in SF for a Monday delivery.

While this was a unexpected roller coaster ride I'm thankful that I didn't have to wait until my est. Oct. 4-10 shipment dates. So see you all soon in the my iPhone is hissing and over heating threads :p

I have been in the same boat (or plane) as all of you. My phone is now in Louisville, and I got an email from UPS saying it will be delivered Monday. Definitely better than the initial delivery estimates. As usual, I will pick it up at the UPS distribution center rather than hoping I am home at the right time.

Here's another concern on this delay. My AppleCare + ends September 20, 2018. So with the delays I lose a week on it.
Even we original delivery Apple was short changing me since it did not ship till Sept. 21

Another thing I will have to call and get fixed.
Nice to pay more for less coverage time. Ugh

Hopefully you'll get it today. I got an email around 4 am from UPS saying mine would come Monday but Apple emailed me saying I would get it Saturday.

It landed at my local airport (EWR) less than an hour ago. Just a minute ago UPS updated the status which sounds to me like I'm getting it today but the scheduled delivery date haven't officially updated.

"A late flight has caused a delay. We're adjusting plans and working to deliver your package as quickly as possible. / Your shipment is scheduled to arrive today after the delivery commitment time."

The flight wasn't delayed based on flightaware but it's probably a canned message. Hopefully it updates to out for delivery soon!

Well, maybe we're not all unemployed slackers, living with our parents, so we can be home to sign for our new iPhones.

I have been notified by UPS that:

(1) Your package will be delivered on 9/22/2016. Signature Required.
So I arranged for 8 hours of PTO to be home.

(2) Your package has been delayed and will now be delivered on 9/23/2016. Signature Required.
Another 8 hours of PTO wasted

(3) Your package has been delayed and will now be delivered on 9/26/2016. Signature Required.
So that's 24 HOURS of wasted PTO because UPS can't get their act together and at the very least upgrade the delivery to a Saturday?

Next time think before you paint such an inaccurate picture on such a broad canvas!

Thank you. I hope you are right.

Mine is just across the river in Philadelphia.
