this proves that most of idrones lack common sense and logic.

Not because he wants to buy the phone before going to surgery, but because he wants to buy the garbage iphone4s, period.

re-read his post and see which of those things he seems to care about the most. go on, we'l wait.

Just because he's upset about not getting the iPhone he purchased, it doesn't mean he's also not upset about the surgery. If anything, it's good that he's not worried too much about the surgery. The surgery is something that's inevitable, and it's never a good thing to obsess over stuff like that. This surgery may even be a regular part of his life due to a medical condition. You don't know, so don't act like an ass.

You wont be waiting long.

Here OP says:

I was able to order 2 hours after pre-order launch pretty easily, after a few site crashes, and even able to change the shipping address a day later! Oh gosh, how I wish I hadn't!

I'm at college and it was being shipped to my home address but I changed it to have it sent to my college address, but now I have to go home on a medical emergency because I need surgery and I won't be back at college until Sunday!

If OP's first priority was his iPhone, he would have not gone home to do his medical emergency.

I don't know guys, what would Mac Rumors be without amazing posts like these? This is pretty hilarious, imo.

You're making a lot of assumptions about the nature of the theft. Not everyone keeps their phone in their pockets 24/7. It may have been in a bag, in a dorm room or wherever. It may have even been taken with force.

Don't be so high and mighty just because you own an iPhone.

If it was in a dorm room, pretty much 99% of dorm rooms have automatic locking doors where you use your key to open the door but it locks as soon as it closes. If it was stolen while the owner was not there it would be the liability of the room-mate.

If it was in a bag, same thing as the pocket thing. Who walks off and leaves a bag sitting there. I'm a senior in college and I can honestly say I treat any place on campus as a public place. You do not walk off and leave private property sitting at a table or something. Even in class you keep your bag right next to you at your seat.

I can honestly say I have never had anything stolen from me. I most of the time leave my car unlocked because if someone is willing to break into my car to steal something I would rather them not break my window. I don't leave valuables in place where there is a possibility of them being stolen.I am 28 years old, have served in the military and I have lived in many parts of the country in large and small cities.

That's good for you, and I hope you never have anything stolen from you. But it still doesn't mean you can judge others for having their property taken from them. If someone stole something from you (say, for example, by pickpocketing you), would that give me the right to brand you as stupid?

If I were ever to be pick pocketed, I would probably start out my statement by saying "A few months back I was pick pocketed and my phone was stolen". A general assumption can be made regarding iPhone thefts due to the nature of the theft. There are very few cases of pickpocketing where phones get stolen now a days. It just doesn't happen like that. Consider for one thing people keep their phone in their front pocket, not their back pocket making it pretty much impossible to steal without the person noticing. Very few people use those belt clips anymore and surely even fewer use belt clips for iphone because it doesn't look cool. Every single time I have heard about an iPhone getting stolen it is due to being set down either at a bar, library, or some other public place and then the person either walks away leaving it there for a minute or is turned around doing something else when it gets stolen.

Considering the guy's ran is about not getting his new phone due to having to go get very important surgery and his statement about his phone being stolen. I can only imagine his priorities are pretty obscure at this point. This leads me to believe he probably falls in the category of someone who would leave their phone on a table or at a bar and have it stolen.

I'm disappointed with a lot of people in this thread.

I never said that I valued my iPhone 4S more than my surgery. Clearly, some people got it. If that was the case, I would have waited and stayed.

It was just a stupid rant on a forum that I thought people would understand, but obviously people like to assume the worst about a person.

Of course I'm worried about the surgery and the iPhone was the last thing on my mind when I scheduled my flight home! It was just an afterthought and I was kind of upset, didn't think I'd receive such a response.

It's agonizing enough to have to go through surgery that's going to cause repeated problems, and to add on a stolen iPhone and not being able to have my new one for a couple of extra days, and then just peachy forum members is really the icing on the cake.

Thanks everyone! :)

Seriously, people were saying your iPhone was more of a priority than your surgery. If that was the case, you would still be home having postponed your surgery!

Still waiting for that guy to reply and admit he was wrong saying that. Haha

Its so sad people value a phone more than life. When we all die we can't take these materials items with us. Your operation is more important surly a friend can sign for it for you. Besides it's a phone plz calm down.

How does "Damn, I'm bummed because I can't get my new phone on Friday" equate to "I value my phone more than I value life?"

Some people don't understand that it is often easier to focus on the smaller things, than to dwell on that which scares us ****less. Trust me, no judgment here.

I wish you all the best on your surgery - and with your shiny new phone.
