I wonder do all carriers in the US support esim they only mentioned AT&T, T-Mobile and Verizon then said many more of all of the MVNO's how many does many more mean?

I use a MVNO and they dont support e-sim so I guess my next phone will be a non iPhone or a non US model iPhone I will not be dependant on esim as I change my phone and sim frequently due to traveling alot and wanting to carrier a cheaper phone when hiking, rock climbing and out in the woods.

Unless the pro model has atleast one physical sim I'm done buying iPhones.

Is this true for the 14 Pro as well, or just the 14?

This is a major bummer for me. I normally buy my phones unlocked and just pop the SIM card out of the old one and in to the new one and start using it. If I want to return the phone, I just do the reverse. Is dealing with an eSIM that easy? If not, what is Apple thinking?

Edit: Looks like it applies to both Pro and non-Pro models. :(

my mnvo cricket recently got esim, is not as easy as swapping sims but not that bad, its only bad for international travel, the only 3 cell ohone company that I know in mexico that use it are movistar,at&t, and telcel. The bad thing about this is that they dont offer esim on prepaid but only their monthly plans which sucks.

Basically go to your mobile carrier. Ask to transfer to apply eSim enter EID make sure you have WiFi and done. Certainly not as easy as swapping SIM I would agree. But I like the added security.

I just converted my SIM to eSIM after the presentation. Took 5 minutes. All this is done online.

How will this work if you upgrade your phone on a line/number that isn’t the line/number you’re actually going to use it on? I still have a lingering iPhone 12 on mine that my son uses, so I was gonna use his line for my upgrade.

I normally just upgrade whatever line then pop my SIM in before turning on the new device - just not sure how this will work.

Based on what I just did with tmobile. I believe you can do a sim upgrade and provide the EID of the phone to whatever number you want it on.

Not sure I understand exactly what you mean, but okay. Lol

If I wind up buying through Apple it’ll be a non-issue, but I was gonna go through ATT because we have several lines with upgrades available.

Do all carriers provide eSIMs in the US?

I'm in the UK. EE PayG doesn't support 5G and doesn't support eSIM. I'm not willing to pay triple for a contract just to get 5G and eSIM.

I will purchase an unlocked iPhone 14 PM. So what will I have to do now? Physically go to AT&T?!

Unless AT&T has the ability to do it through online? I know with Verizon, I do have the ability to activate using esim on verizon.com

Esim is amazingly simple. Just did it on a 12 pro… no need to go into the store anymore. Just provide the phone imei over the phone to the carrier rep, and they send it to you digitally. Plus we got +70~ mah to the battery as a result
