So you could've just kept your iPhone and saved stuff to the device.
It's not painless doing that on iPhone. It will push you to sync everything to iCloud. And what if I want to transfer all that data?I'm a Windows user, so my only real option is to upload to the cloud and then download from the cloud to my PC, which defeats the point. On Android, I can connect my phone to the desktop using a usb-c cable and voila.

I know what you're going to say: OneDrive and Google Drive are less secure than iCloud even without ADP.

But I'll be saving all my data on device. Sure, you can do that on iPhone but it's always trying to get you to sync your data, and the file system on iOS is garbage compared to Android.
What about Cryptomator?

Not related with this. But I found it is funny that US accusing UK for treaty violation, when Trump pulls US out of International organizations and violate USMCA agreement by adding 25% tariffs on Canada and Mexico.

Interesting times. I’m saddened that we in the UK are needing to review every aspect of our relationship and reliance on a former ally.
