I used to tether my iPad to my Samsung Android phone by Bluetooth to access the internet travelling. Now it no longer works. Nor does USB tethering. Is this something to do with upgrading to iPadOS 26?

I have made sure that the devices are connected by Bluetooth, and I have turned off the VPN on both devices, but these steps haven’t solved the problem. Of course I can use the phone as a wifi hotspot, but that is not ideal because it drains the battery. Is there any fix?

Go into Bluetooth settings and forget the device. Turn off iPad and turn on iPad. Add Android phone back as Bluetooth device.

For what (little?) it’s worth I use my lowly Samsung A25 as a wifi hotspot for my iPad all day and basically never get below 30-35% battery…and many/most days it’s around 40%. Ymmv of course depending on how you use the phone and iPad. 🤷‍♂️
