Have seen hundreds of tweets very recently on twitter where phones without registered UDIDs are all the sudden being bricked... This unusual? Does it mean something?
Beta 2? Could it not just mean that the beta expired before you were able to upgrade to beta 6?
I'm actually not even sure what happens when a beta expires.![]()
Why would apple just now be enforcing it? And I was meaning if it was normal for them to do this, this late in the beta cycle?
Now I just tried to upgrade to beta 6 and it won't let me because 'Find my iPhone' is active. I can't turn that off because the phone has been deactivated. Grrrr....
My phone just got bricked, even though I have a valid registered UDID and an active iOS developer membership. Not happy. It was running on beta 2 and I haven't had the chance to upgrade to beta 6 because my iMac which is the computer I sync with has been in repair for 4 weeks.

Try a DFU restore. You'll still need to put in your iCloud info after it's done but it should let you restore and update
Except you just plug it into iTunes and restore to another ISPW...hardly a brick.
More than likely, as was the case with beta 2 and 1. People don't think and then come up with wild theories about it when the reality is much simpler (and dumber on their part).
Never underestimate the ignorance/stupidity of the masses. It's crazy, this rumour has gone viral. It was the first thing on my news feed here in Ireland!
People who don't upgrade to the latest beta deserve to be punished, therefore locked. I'm nasty...
