It would be hilarious if this passed. I hope it does just for whimsy's sake. And next he should try to get Gap to be the official state clothing brand.
Why does everyone have a stick up their bum all the time?

When politicians initiate legislation outside of their very obvious lack of technical knowledge, look for trouble to follow.

Why is there a need to mandate an official OS? This does make sense on some levels. But, it should be driven by privacy and security, etc. and driven by use and needs cases. Not because "Android is better".

It’s a joke. 😑

Just another way for a politician to say they have "accomplishments" In my state we have similar foolish things like the official state soft drink and the official state treat.

A lot of obvious negative feedback but has anyone stopped to ask if he is wrong?

The technology on Android is better. It’s been a fact since the T-Mobile G1 that Android phones have often gotten hardware innovations years before Apple customers. Going back to the iPhone 1 Android has been first with 3G, Camera flashes, fast charging, 4G, folding displays, VRR, USB-C, video functionality, 0.5x lenses, Unibody chassis, 5x periscopes, selfie cameras, perforated screens, OLED, GPS, gyros, silicon carbon batteries, large displays, NFC payments, biometrics, Styli, OIS, Autofocus and just about every other piece of hardware we take for granted.

Most of these introductions were also killer at the time. The 5x prism on the Huawei P30 Pro was astounding. Heck, the old G1 might have been a little kitchen sink in its hardware features but it pulled them all off.

Where Apple take the lead is in software. NFC payments never took off until Apple Pay. iTunes integration for your music was a great start. FaceTime popularised then idea of easy video calls. TouchID introduced biometrics to a mass audience and so on. Apple take other people’s innovations and make them seamless to use in your everyday life.

Says Wikipedia ; "In 2025, Cullimore sponsored legislation to ban cities or communities from adding fluoride, a mineral that reduces tooth decay, to public water systems".

Of course he's a "republican".
There are anti fluoride people on both sides. The city of Portland, Oregon, certainly not a Republican stronghold, is the largest metropolitan area in the US to ban it’s use.

Chemistry knows no political boundaries, for better or worse.

Yes, Android is known for launching features first, for example, their version of FaceID came out first, but it's crap when compared to the Real FaceID.
Throwing half-ass features just to be the first one is not the way to do things. It's just consumer bait for those who want to brag about having new features on their devices, although these features are not properly implemented and lack practical use.
Apple is taking their time with the foldable phones because they don't want to release a phone with a crease that may break.
Their mistake was to launch Apple Maps when it wasn't ready for launch. I hope they never forget that mistake.

They say Global Warming is fake news, so imagine everything else they don't believe in.

EDIT: I found this:

-------

Controversies and Concerns

While fluoride is widely endorsed by health organizations, some concerns exist regarding its potential health effects. Recent studies have raised questions about links between fluoride exposure and lower IQ in children, but these studies often involve higher fluoride levels than those used in U.S. water supplies. Most experts agree that the benefits of fluoridation outweigh the risks when maintained at recommended levels.

In summary, fluoride in tap water is essential for preventing tooth decay and promoting public health, making it a valuable addition to community water supplies.
-------

After doing some research:
• People should timely brush their teeth as needed if they want to prevent tooth decay.
• Parents need to teach their children proper brushing habits.
• Did you know that if you brush right after eating acidic food you could be damaging the enamel on your teeth?
• Toothpaste has fluoride, but the instructions say "Do not ingest", and that's for a reason.
• It makes sense to add a little chlorine to tap water to prevent it from going bad, but is fluoride really needed?
• Natural Spring water may or may not contain fluoride in smaller amounts, so considering tap water may be water that has been recovered, treated, filtered and recirculated, it makes sense to put back some fluoride on it.
