Since I installed TenFourFoxPEP on InterwebPPC, YouTube will not work. I am using a Power Mac G5 1.8 DP.

EDIT- I tried it on Safari, I am using Sorbet Leopard v1.5, and it worked just fine. Maybe I confused InterWebPPC with Safari.

@ww2_1943 The TenFourFoxPEP download page explicitly mentions needing the TenFourFox MP4 Enabler to stream online video whenever using a TenFourFoxPEP-boosted browser.

It's an additional (but necessary) step in the installation process, because online video playback will be much faster as a result.

I must’ve glanced right over it! 🤦🏻‍♂️
I’ll install that tomorrow.
I appreciate the response! And Sorbet Leopard!

You should really pull from the main branch rather than the release branch. SPR5 is 2 years old already. Main branch still gets the "hobby mode" updates that i add to InterWebPPC.

...So, I had some time over the last few days and was able to throw this together. At least on the Mac clients, I always did feel that Pale Moon and Basilisk were a little slower than they should be, which this should hopefully remedy. 🙂

Thanks for your work. Just tried it on powerfox and my menus are black

If you are using your PowerBook, it is likely because hardware acceleration in PowerFox is not fully supported on the GeForce 5 series, which should have been blacklisted in recent versions. Either way, go to about:config and set layers.acceleration.force to false. This should resolve it.
if I try to do this after copying your prefs.js I see all black.
If I delete the prefs.js all works ok. using lastest version of powerfox on my pB G4
edit: just edite the prefs file and it worked. thank you

Works great for me! I'm using it on both the PPC PowerFox Beta on my Sawtooth and on Intel PowerFox on my 2009 Mini.

If anyone could try that out, please update us 🙂

If something does not work, please report on https://trac.macports.org – we gonna fix it.

few years later ...

Code:
---> Upgrading already installed dependencies of tenfourfox-devel
 --->  Computing dependencies for tenfourfox-devel
libgcc11 is known to fail. Try to install anyway? [y/N]: n

Scary, I quit! (installation process)

I think it is something wrong in MacPorts upstream, but no idea what specifically. libgcc11 should be a stub port, and in any case it can build on 10.5. However, MacPorts never used gcc11 on Leopard (I did), so maybe unnecessary restriction pops up from somewhere. (However, this is not a supported scenario in PPCPorts, so it can also be that issue is ours.)

TFF builds with gcc-4.8 specifically. I do not want to maintain archaic gcc versions, and I don’t think it was well-tested in MacPorts either after a move from gcc7 to gcc14. So you are welcome to suggest a fix, but I gave up on TFF (or anything else that cannot build with either Xcode gcc or modern gcc).
