I just realized I said bottom right, but it's actually bottom left. I'll see what Vaja is willing to do. The other two vaja grip cases I got for my wife's 6+ don't have anything like that on any corner. I think that one of the perforations was torn in the stretching process and they attempted to bandage it up. If it were my wife's case it would get beat up anyway so I wouldn't care so much, but I'm a perfectionist with my electronics so it's didappointing.

Well here are pics of our cases.

Those look pretty nice! I like the quilted style grip but was worried it'd be too thick for my preference.

Ordered Two, Received One So Far

Here's the full story thus far.

Ordered two custom Grip LP cases on November 2. Received email stating my order has shipped via DHL on December 4. Unfortunately the tracking info never appeared. I contacted Vaja and they said that DHL lost the package because on their end it was picked up...

Contacted support and they apologized and told me they will work ASAP to make both custom cases again. Let me know that they will reach out once they have shipped. They also reimbursed me the original shipping costs that I paid ($12).

Long story short, I signed up for FedEx delivery manager a while back. Pretty cool because it's free and it auto populates any packages that are scheduled to be delivered to your address and in your name. Two tracking numbers came up both coming from Vaja. I was curious here because I assumed they would ship both together since they are from the same order. Have still yet to actually receive an email saying my new order has shipped from Vaja.

Fast forward to today and only one came in. Happened to be the one my friend picked out. Of course mine is held back in Buenos Aires because of custom issues. Called FedEx and apparently my case is bundled with about a hundred other Vaja shipments going into the U.S. He said if one item is missing paperwork it holds up the entire order at customs. Fantastic.

First impressions on the Grip LP that I received is that it is indeed beautiful and screams quality. Floater Crown Blue and Caterina Birch on an iPhone 6 Plus. From the packaging, booklets inside, the case itself (smell, texture, look) it's gorgeous. See pictures in album linked below. Forgive the quality as they were taken with an iPhone 5c and an iPhone 6 Plus for the pictures without the phone in case.

I'll update when my case arrives. I ordered the Floater Pewter Gray and Caterina Black variant for my iPhone 6 Plus. Hoping it comes soon!

Any chance for a side by side pic of this and the apple leather case ? Trying to pick and would like to see size difference and how well does vaja protect ?

That sucks, hope you get yours soon. My wife's case as well as mine came via 2 separate FedEx tracking numbers too. Weird.

Snapped a few shots of this side-by-side with the Apple Leather case.

The Grip LP is definitely a little thicker and certainly feels more protective. The corners look more reinforced. Although it does not cover the entire top of the device as Apple's case does I'd say it's equally protective, if not more. I'm fairly certain that Vaja constructs the leather case on top of a thin hard shell piece underneath. That being said, it makes sense that it's a little thicker and thus more protective.

The biggest thing for me is that this leather feels way more durable. Even though I'm someone who upgrades every year, I can tell this would last well past the two years most people keep their phone. Of course nothing can tell the truth better than time itself but that's just my initial impression.

Vaja Grip LP vs Apple Leather Case (iPhone 6 Plus)

Cecilia responded to my email within 24 hours, and so far Vaja seems to be doing great with this issue.

Basically at this point they have told me they will replace the case and asked if there was a different color combination I'd prefer.

I'll update once I have more info on what the resolution ends up being.

At least things are looking up for you, nice!

When I ordered mine back in the beginning of November a custom Grip LP for the iPhone 6 Plus set me back $90. Price has went up.

Bummer. I was thinking $90 I could do...but $120 just seems too much to me. :/ I would want to customize at this price...so no standard colors for me. Oh well. Guess I'll try the BookBook or the SurfacePad.

Pricing does seem to change on their site at times.

I've got a brand new floater black with rosso red strip and interior, that was custom made and cost $120. Now they show it as an in stock color. My wife preferred the look of a different one I got her. If anyone has interest in it they can PM me.

Got my replacement case yesterday after work. It is beautiful! I had asked if they had a true blue option with the bridge leather Pique, but they only do it in Caterina. So I went with that.
Great quality on this one, not a real complaint to be had, and I didn't expect it so quickly so that was a pleasant surprise.
Took some pics of it and my original black on black Bridge to show the subtle differences in the perforation and leather type. I'll try to attach them now. :)

And one from the front with phone in case.

Overall, I'm very impressed by how quickly Vaja resolved my issue and got me the replacement. The new case is just about perfect.

The Caterina leather is a little softer and the perforations are smaller. It also feels slightly thinner than my bridge version.

I have yet to decide which leather I prefer, at this point I like them both about equally.

Good stuff, carreragt7, glad you had a happy resolution.

Just got my Grip for the iP6+ with the London color. It was one of the stock colors when I ordered it, and I got it in less than a weak.

I've been a fan of the Apple leather case, which I still have, and when I first noticed the cutouts on the vaja web site for the top, the bottom, and the buttons on both sides, I thought it might detract a bit from the look. But now that I've had this for a day or so, I'm really getting to like them.

My current opinion is that those cutouts reveal more of the iPhone's natural beauty, and make the buttons far easier to access than on any of the other cases I've had. The cutouts don't significantly reduce the protection IMO.

For those still interested, their IS a slight lip on mine that fully protects the glass when laying on a flat surface, and in comparison to the Apple leather case, my take is that the Vaja is very slightly thicker. I'd guess half a mm. I absolutely don't notice that difference as I'm carrying it or using it. I had to look at them very closely, side by side, to see that (if I DID see it). It's really trivial IMO.

I'm VERY much enjoying both the look and feel of this case.

Just got my grip case for the 6plus in the Durango & birch! The case is fantastic and the leather feels awesome! Only complaint is that the little metal Vaja logo had a very sharp edge like it was not properly cut. I contacted Vaja and they said it would smooth out over time. I was able to push in the sharp piece that was sticking out from the edge and I'm wondering if I can polish down the edge to make it more smooth... Other than that great case.
