Ordered a week ago for my soon to turn up 6+ Space Grey

Ordered mine in Pique Rosso outer & Caterina True Blue inner leather. For $124 I expect it to exude quality and be fit for purpose; shame if I have to rant to their CS & return it.#

That said I am pleased with the pics posted so far.#

Well, i got mines and it does not fit properly on the upper left corner. It does not snap properly because of the thick lining and where its stitched together.

UPDATE..

Here are some pics.

Does that not just snap on with a little more pressure? Or if you put that side on first? Either way, that sucks for you. I'm really hoping my pique one doesn't have any issues.

Has anyone received their pique (perforated) case yet? I'd be interested in some real life pics of one. :)

Waiting for my Pique, pls post pics if you get it before I do

Yeah that really sucks after waiting one odd month & paying arm & leg for it, you'd expect value for your money. They obviously skipped the quality check stage# or did'nt have the physical iphone for a proper fitting

I hope their CS sort this out

Ohhhhh. The stitching where the two different color leathers come together on the outside. I couldn't figure out what you meant by stitching by looking at mine. Now I understand. Obviously there was no possible way my standard grip would have that problem. Have you heard from them yet?

Tried that, it goes on then pop right back off. They've responded to my complain and want to see pics. Waiting to hear back from them.

Well, they responded.

Hi,
Thanks for the pictures.
We will replace the case. We would like to let you know that demand is huge now so production of items is taking longer than normal, that is why your new case may take a couple of weeks
Anyway, there is no need to return the case received, keep it to protect your device while the new case is produced. Once ready, it will be sent to the address provided in the original order.

Best regards,

Cecilia Q.

I'll keep you all posted.

It's good to see at least they have responded and they will send a replacement and also have said you don't need to return the one you already got.

Hey Nkawal, sent you a PM. :)

How do these cases age/patina? I'd like to get a lighter colour but I'm concerned that it will just look dirty very quickly as some light leather tends to. Also are they easy to take off and on? I've been using a TPU because I change SIM cards twice a week - need something easy to pop off when need be. Thanks, these look lovely!

I've only had mine a couple weeks but I'm already starting to notice it darkening a bit on the edges where my palm and fingers sit when I use the phone. Someone posted some pictures (here or in another thread) of the Vaja they used on their 5, but they were darker colors.

I change cases every day when I go to the gym. No problem there.

Yep thanks, I did see that page on their site. It doesn't say anything about Bridge leather, but I was also able to find this page that does --
http://www.vajacases.com/bridge-leather

However, words and descriptions are one thing, and someone with first-hand experience is another. Hence my question if anyone has such knowledge/experience with the 2 different leathers.

The link provided doesn't seem to be active anymore... I saw that you chose to go with the Bridge leather, what was the information you figured out from your research that helped you come to that decision?

I ordered a bridge pique 6 grip, couldn't tell what the difference was as there wasn't a description of the bridge. The pique leather options were either bridge or Caterina, with Bridge being $10 more. I went out on a limb with the expectation that being more expensive the Bridge would be a higher quality choice.

That said, if anyone gets a 6 grip or top flip that they don't like or that is defective (and doesn't have to be returned in order to get the replacement) I'd be interested in it for a custom project. I did some custom leather work in my car and have some leftover leather from the hide. I think it'd be awesome to try to customize the Vaja with my own leather that would match my car interior. PM me if you've got one. Thanks!

Thank you so much! Good to know. I wanted to go with pink - now may have to rethink that #

When I got mine it didn't snap in the left corner quite like the others, but I think it might be part of the design. It has never moved from that corner on its own.

The link still works for me, but at this point it's probably a moot point as it sounds like you've already placed your order.

Unfortunately, I didn't really use a very scientific process in choosing Bridge. I picked it over Catalina due to its better durability based on Vaja's product descriptions, and I picked it over Floater for a somewhat similar reason -- since the Floater leather is contoured/ridged, I was afraid that it would be harder to 'self repair'. By self repair I mean if you have a stain or scuff, you can typically just 'rub' it out with your thumb (and some natural finger oil). At least, that was my experience with what I think were similar leathers on my last 2 cases, i.e. a Noreve for my BB 8900, and then a Spigen for my 4S. Plus cosmetically I realized I prefer the smooth look of Bridge compared to the marbled look of Floater.

Waiting anxiously for our cases, I'm guessing mine should be done by now (25 days) but wife's was 45 days, so I suppose Vaja is only going to ship both together.

I ordered my Grip on Friday with a quote of 25 days for customization. I went with the Catalina leather in vibrant green. I'm so excited. I've done quite a bit of research on it and hope it's everything I imagine it to be. I choose the grip as opposed to the LP due to the reviews on the lip covering the screen so I'll upload the picture of the actual case once I receive it.

has Vaja added the screen protection by increasing the edges lip height??

anyone got a better version from them?

Wife's and mine finally arrived, after about 2 months (we ordered on 10/16).

We both have the iloome screen protectors on our phones, and both phones were still able to fit into the cases with no problems. Protrusion is less of a concern because both of ours are flip-cases.

My pique black on black bridge leather exterior and Caterina interorfor my 6 arrived. Ended up having to go pick it up from fedex. Driver either wasn't leaving door tags or they were being blown away by wind.

My case gives just enough protection that the edges are just about even with my glass screen protector.
The fit is about perfect, but they could really benefit from better post-build inspection as the case has a lot of excess adhesive on it in random spots. The holes of the pique let adhesive through. Also caused some of the polycarbonate frame (that's visiblr through the holes) to appear glossier due to adhesive being in some areas but not others.

The bottom right lip also appears to have been repaired or covered with a different type of adhesive, basically giving the appearance of drop or abrasion damage even though it was new in box. I've seen this kind of adhesive bonding on some cheaper leather cases (Ventev penna and others in the $30 range) but wasn't expecting it on a case I paid $110 for and waited just about 2 months to be made.

The light green grip pique on my wife's phone is already showing signs of the color wearing off on the bottom edges. She's only had it on the phone for less than a week.

I understand that leather is a natural material and as a handicraft item there will be slight imperfections and wear/patina. Still debating whether to even bring up my concerns with Vaja. I probably will just copy this mini review when I get a moment and see if they respond.

I'm overly critical when it comes to a certain price point, and I think the extra level of scrutiny is warranted on Vaja. Besides these mainly cosmetic imperfections the case feels great in hand and smells nice too. :) I give this design a 10/10 but this specific case's execution a 7.5/10.

I'll add some pics later today, about to embark on a road trip right now.

That is horrible and if I had received that, would be unacceptable to me. I would suggest taking it up with Vaja. Looks like someone else in this thread also had a QC issue with them and they committed to sending him a free replacement, asking him to keep the original in the meantime.

I would have to say that after using my case for the last few days, I'm definitely not blown away by it, at least considering what I had spent and how long I waited, in comparison to what I've been accustomed to -- my prior cases were also leather from Noreve and then from Spigen. I can tell that the leather and stitching is high quality and that the case will probably last with my phone for the next 2 years, but I will certainly think twice before jumping to order from Vaja for my next phone.

On your previous comment about driving to FedEx to pick up your case/s, if you have an account (or create one) with FedEx/UPS/etc., you can usually log in, navigate to the relevant tracking number you have, and then 'authorize' the delivery agent to leave your item at your door or mailbox without requiring a signature. Of course, how comfortable you are with doing this depends on your neighborhood.

My grip also has the same thing in the bottom right hand corner. I emailed vaja and they told me that the mark was due to part of the process of making the case. Can't exactly remember the exact words but something to where the tool attached either for the leather crafting process or the painting process. And if I remember right it only was on the Floater and not the Bridge style leather.

I've had mine for a couple months now and I can't even tell now barely where the mark was, I have the stone grey so it was really visible when I first received it

I just received my forest night agenda in Bridge and it does not have any tool marks on the case.
