Let the hacking begin. Think mac osx is secure? wait till hackers get bored and come up with keyloggers and such to steal steam accounts.

Who needs Bootcamp now? Seriously! Anyone?

With the Mac "gaming" issue solved and incredible virtualization software readily available, who's needs to run stand-alone Windows? I'll exclude creative professionals using 3D software that's currently not on the Mac. Otherwise, I'm deleting my Windows Bootcamp partition on May 12th. Are you?

To claim that the gaming issue is solved is rather a strong statement given that it is a single publisher who is releasing a Mac version. What about all of the other publishers, and what about the thousands of older games that'll never be released for the Mac? How do you propose people play them without Windows? I tried Parallels 5 on my MBP and it was woefully inadequate for any kind of gaming, and that's apparently the best and fastest virtualisation software out there. It wouldn't even run OpenTTD, and that's a game with roots in 1995! The choice and flexability for gaming on the Mac just isn't there until Apple work out some way to install .exe natively in OSX so that anything and everything Windows can be installed. And that aint gonna happen!

So how exactly will this work? Will it be free for those who already own Windows-Steam games?

How exciting! Hurry up with Team Fortress 2 already!!!

Left for Dead 2 would be lovely as well :D

Also looking forward to complaints about servers going down and not having fast enough graphics cards. We can finally join the PC brigade... :apple:

From what I've been reading, there's still a bit of optimization left to do to get the games running up to par. For some reason games run better on the Windows partition than they do in OSX. Until that issue is resolved and until Apple offers an affordable Mac Pro -like, GPU-upgradable, desktop, I'll consider the gaming issue partially solved.

My torrent of the Mac Steam beta isn't giving me "your account isn't Mac-enabled" errors anymore. Looks like they're updating accounts right now.

Also, Portal is installing.

EDIT: Never mind, just got an error. "Your account is not enrolled in the Mac beta".
