God Bless Canada, the gracious, the beautiful and the truth North.

I have been around, and I can say with a straight face that Canada has the most gracious and civil people.

Geez Nickleback fans are so touchy. :D

I lol'ed.

Congrats guys on your hockey win yesterday. Great game.

We here in America didn't get to see all of the closing ceremony. I missed Avril Lavigne and Nickelback :( NBC cut it to air some new crappy reality TV show. But what I did see was good. Catherine O'Hara seemed a bit off( not her usually funny self) and I'm not sure why.

haha, i didnt realize they cut it short. thank god. nickleback is awful, even NBC is smart enough to realize nobody wants to hear their one song.

Neil Young was awesome though.

If anyone doubts what Hockey means to Canadians. Canada basically shut down while the Hockey game was on:

http://www.tsn.ca/nhl/story/?id=312025

Nearly half of the Canadian population watched the entire game on average, while 80 percent of Canadians watched some part of the game (26.5 million). The game aired live on nine television networks in eight languages via Canada's Olympic Broadcast Media Consortium.

I was very disappointed in NBC that they abruptly paused the (pre-recorded) closing ceremonies just so they could show off that stupid marriage ref show of theirs.

I just turned the channel to watch whatever was on the Canadian Broadcasting station for about an hour.

Oh, and it would have been nice to have some indie/new canadian bands like Arcade Fire, Broken Social Scene, Metric, etc play instead of Nickleback, that woman from Black Eyed Peas, Sarah McLachlan, Neil Young. That's just my opinion.

Great Job Canada for winning the GOLD!!!!!!!

Glad to Toronto was into it too!

So the final medal count. Who do you guys think "won" the Olympics. Canada or the United States, and why?

In before, "we're all winners"

IMO it is sad to think in terms of who "won" the Olympics and have petty argument about gross medal count vs Gold count, or points assigned to each medal, or complicated formulas with population, GDP, etc... It completely misses the point.

I am Canadian and for me this was the best Olympics ever and one of the most unifying, joyful events that occurred in Canada, in my lifetime.

Yes we were competitive across the board, we had our best ever showing and capped it with a fairy tale ending Hockey win. But more important is the mood that swept the country like never before. I have vague memories of Montreal, solid memory of Calgary. They never clicked. Nothing swept the nation like this. People older than me say there hasn't been anything like this since Expo 67.

These Olympics were a winner for all in the True North, because it made our glowing hearts burn brighter. When you look back forget the medal count and capture the memory of the emotions that swept the country. A bright shining moment of unity for our collective history.

We gained something here that can't be counted in numerical terms.

Oh, Canada! Our home and native land....sorry, I'm too choked up to carry on. Where are my tissues?

All kidding aside, these games were pretty awesome. Canada done good!:D

Great Ipod, a friend of mine went there, got a bunch of merchandise.

Really happy with this event, one of the best events for Canada ever!
