I'm glad I stayed up to order my plus. All of the 64GB for T-Mobile are sold out for a month.Yep, going to be my last overnight preorder. Just isn't any need to do so anymore.
At this point everything I've checked is 3-4 weeks out, even space gray 16GB(I haven't looked at every possible variation).I noticed the same. I'll assume this year wasn't a blowout with the exception of the pink gold model.
Eh, better for everyone else. But really I wouldn't say it won't be necessary anymore, this is just a result of it being a marginal upgrade. Best believe that if iPhone 7 is a complete redesign per usual it'll be the same ole preorder fiasco we're used to.Yep, going to be my last overnight preorder. Just isn't any need to do so anymore.
There's also an extra week between preorders and the launch date this year. Traditionally it's been one week later, so there is more supply for launch day since they have two weeks. I have a feeling they may have done this to prevent people from crying about having to wait a few days after launch.
You had how long to decide and yet you waited almost a full day after preorders opened to make up your mind that you wanted one? That's entirely your fault, not Apples. Preorders were available for launch for hours and hours.Well pretty much everything is sold out on the Apple site to pickup in store. And for shipping it's 3-4 weeks.
I hadn't decided how I was going to do my upgrade until tonight so I lost on the pre-order. Looks like peeps like me will be waiting a while. Darn Apple![]()

if you want a 6s in any colour or capacity (except higher capacity Rose Gold), you're laughing. Not so with any capacity or colour Plus.
Seems that Apple underestimated demand on what appears again to be the more sought after model of the two.
The 6s (regular) is a nice phone. Should be lots of happy customers on the 25th.
I highly doubt that. I saw a report of sales from the 6/6+ and for every 2-3 old of the regular 6 the only sold 1 6+. The 6 was by far overall more popular by a few times over.
They probably only had 1/4-1/3 the stock of 6S+ as the 6S to start with which is why the 6S+ are all back 2-3 weeks. Why would you order 3 times more than forecasted based on the 6/6+ trend?
They also ordered more phones overall than ever too so that's likely why the 6S isn't sold out. Doesnt mean they didnt sell a sh*t ton.
I wasn't speaking in absolute terms per se re: popularity. I don't doubt that the 6 outsells the 6+. The Plus is more niche and the price alone chases people away.
Reality is, being out of stock on one item class and having excess in another is not ideal either. In a perfect world, both models would be tracking together in their wait times. Apple appears to have under-forecast the demand for the Plus and over-forecasted demand for the 6 so far.
I saw a lot of buzz in the forums leading up to the presale about the Plus. I'm not surprised they sold out so quickly.
Apple has a super strong supply chain and has no doubt prepared for this launch like no other. Unlike the 6 launch, Apple has had ~1 year to work out the tooling, manufacturing, etc. The 6 --> 6s is just minor changes in the process, so no doubt that they have a huge stockpile to sell and can produce them quickly and efficiently.
I would bet 100 USD that Apple has sold more 6s preorders in the past day than they sold for 6 in this time.
