This isn't my first Apple product or iPhone, it's for my brother. The person buying his Droid was expecting to buy it Saturday.
What irritates me the most is that Verizon publicly said that all orders before the cutoff would be shipped/delivered on the 14th. Like wtf Verizon. Apparently that doesn't apply to my account.
Well I don't expect folks to feel any better...but after reading the AT&T thread a bit, it sounds like their customers had similar experiences. Lack of information (or wrong information), difficult time tracking, and back-ordered phones even for customers who had been committed the 14th.
It makes sense that you would get better information if you order direct from Apple....after all they are the manufacturer. I don't fault Verizon or AT&T for not having shipping information earlier. But I don't think there is any excuse for the customer service reps not having consistent information.
I needed to order from Verizon to keep unlimited data...I sure hope that isn't the case next time...or I hope VZ gets better coordinated. I won't leave Verizon (the coverage is too awsome).
