Ordered a black 16gb from the Verizon web site yesterday afternoon. Just got the ship notification, and it should be here tomorrow by 3 pm.

Very nice.

I'm in Atlanta

What the heck? I ordered the black 16GB on Wednesday, just got the ship notification today (Saturday), and it is scheduled to be delivered 9 days from now - I checked the tracking and it is currently located in Hong Kong. The difference is that I ordered it from the Apple online store, not Verizon. Is the Apple online store that much slower?

I ordered my new iphone 4s on 11/17/2011 i wondering why its first shipping on the 9th of Dec

Apparently they won't have them in stock until the 9th. Atleast that's what the rep told me in-store. It's a little ridiculous having to wait THAT long.

As I said earlier in this thread. It is pointless to wait. You can order it through the apple site for next day pickup at the Apple store.

how do you get the 2-yr contract price instead of the MSRP at the Apple store?

also, I take it you just to a Verizon store to activate the phone, right?

my estimated ship date is 12/9 (~3.5 weeks after the order date), which is kinda really annoying

Every night I wait until 9pm when the Apple site opens the reservation system and I check every single apple store in Virginia for a Verizon iphone (any size!) and none of them have one available. Every night for a week now. So it is not pointless to wait because some of us cannot order for next day pickup.

That said, the wait really does suck.

I just placed an order for a 16gb white 4s through apple.

How long is it taking before apple is able to ship it out.

Well I placed my order for a 16gb white 4S on the 12th of December, got it on the 16th or 17th...less than a week later. That was at Verizon though.

Usually Apple stores have them in stock, especially here in LA. But it shouldn't be too bad, it's been a few months from the release, so they are wayyy more available. I'd say you wouldn't have to wait more than a week.

When I was getting my two AT&T 16GB 4S iPhones on Monday they were sold out everywhere in San Antonio except one Apple store, where they reportedly had "tons of 'em". Then yesterday my wife and father-in-law picked one up at an AT&T store no problem. It's kind of weird how the stock comes and goes.

Yes, the stock is very weird.

You definitely have better luck trying to find one at a actual Apple store rather than your carrier...

And the white 4S 16gb seems to be the one that's harder to find. At least that's what I was told by an Apple employee.
