I had hoped that their system would be smart enough to recheck to see if I was at 50% before making the charge. That did not happen. I was charged the device payment amount on the new order.. I am on the phone now to get that credited.
My bill is not due to the 23rd. When I preordered the device I authorized the amount due to make it 50% which was 63$. So when I preordered it I had the total of the first month installment tax for the phone and the amount I need to pay for upgrade. I don't understand

Piggybacking on this question to see if I could do Verizon device payment through Apple on a business account in order to get the trade-in promo.
I'm pretty sure we could buy a phone at Apple "device only" where they don't have to check your account info, but that may be the only way.
On the pre-order you authorized VZW to charge you the amount that equaled getting you to 50%, but if you have a bill cycle that happens after you put the preorder in it too will have a charge on it for your typical device payment plan amount, but those dollars relate to the old phones and not the new ones. You want to make sure that you do not pay that amount twice.
Here is an example:
You have a 6s and on 9.9 you had paid all but 1 payment to get you to 50% you would have had say a $31 authorization on the preorder to get you to 50%, however if you have a bill that cycles before your preorder is charged you can look at the bill and see a device payment charge of the same $31. If you pay your bill and you pay the amount on the preorder you would double pay that $31.
All of this is really dependent on timing, some people won't have this issue, some will. It is all based on when your bill cycle hits, when you put your preorder in, and when the preorder is charged.
I just got off the phone with VZW. They said that the system should automatically fix the issue, but not until the next bill cycle hits. We will see.
This is almost comical. I just reserved a MB 7+ at Apple. Then I just got charged at 10:30am for my JB 7+ through Verizon. Shipping date: 9/18.

Card charged! Ordered 256 Black at 4:03 on 9/9. Delivering to Philly. Ship date still says 9/23 though. Should this change at some point if the charge went through?
This may be the first time I've heard about jet black iPhone 7 Plus being shipped from Verizon. Mine is a 256 GB and original deliver by date of 9/28.
Went ahead and picked up the reservation that I made for 7 Plus Verizon Model Matte Black 128 GB at the Apple store. Used the iUP reservation link but when I went I told them that I'm buying outright.
Since the Verizon Store ordered my phone, I don't have a confirmation number or any tracking from Verizon (so I can't really tell what my status is) s looks like I'll end up getting another one, but I'll tell Verizon store that when it's ready for pick up that I'll return it and just pay the restock fee and someone may be lucky to get one at the Verizon store for walk in lol.

Same exact time and config. I don't think many, if any, of our config have been shipped from Verizon yet.
Checked my bank account, saw a $1.00 charge and got excited... Nope just from the gas I bought last night. Smh.
