Preordered at the Verizon store in NC when they opened. Website says shipping date 9/28, but the woman at Verizon said we should expect arrival on 9/23 or before.

I also preordered in store when they opened and was told new device delivery was 9/16; website now says 9/28. Hoping the next couple days prove the store rep right and my online status wrong.

Black 128gb plus, Gold 128gb plus, Rose Gold 128gb plus all ordered 16th around 6am
email date: 9/28
order status: still processing

New customer. No ports.

I ordered mine about 0515 EST.

iPhone 7+ Matte Black 128 GB.

Deliver By Date on email: 09/23/2016
Order Status as of 9/12 1142: is Processing and ship date of 9/23.

Ordered 256GB Jet Black 7 Plus thru verizon.com with a confirmation email sent at 8:58am Central on 9/9/16 with 10/19 expected delivery.
Checking my order status online still shows 10/19, but if I go to verizon.com and look at preordering another one through my phone it shows delivery by 10/12 (a week earlier than mine despite being 3 days later), yet if I do this same thing through a PC it shows delivery by 11/09. I bet if I called customer service they would give me a different date. So confusing. I leave the country on 10/14 so that would be awesome if I could have it before then.

What also confuses me is how I'm reading people on here who ordered the same model later in the day than I did and are with a 9/23 or 10/5 ship date....?

I ordered 256 GB 7 Plus in Matte Black at 7am Eastern on Friday. Confirmation email said 9/23 ship date. All other tracking methods show the same date.

This is my third iPhone pre-order experience with Verizon. I've gotten the 6 and 6s + on launch day through Verizon orders.

I can say from experience- some people will show shipping status changes, and some won't. There's almost no rhyme or reason or consistency.

If you're getting your phone on launch day, then either very late on Thursday night or Friday morning you will see your order updated and get shipping notifications. Tracking number will reveal shipment happened earlier in the week, and will show an entire series of updates and locations.

Some people will start getting shipping notifications in the next day or so complete with Fedex tracking numbers. Some tracking numbers will have details, some will have no indications of actual shipment.

In the final 12 hours, between 9PM Thursday and 9am Friday, updated tracking rolls out- and an entire series of backdated tracking events will magically appear.

Personally, my experience has been consistent. (I live in NYC if it matters) Order within a few hours of pre-order becoming available. Get an ETA for launch day or the week after. A few days later I get a Fedex tracking number. The Fedex tracking number is useless and offers no information. I enter my contact info on Fedex for shipping updates.

Suddenly around 10PM the night before I get a rapid series of updates about my device leaving China and then checking in at a few points in the continental U.S. I know for sure Philadelphia was one. Then it usually leaves Philly for New York at around 1 or 2 am, no further updates until Fedex shows us with a package.

Verizon 7 plus 128GB black, email confrontation at 3:19 AM EST
'Delivery by 9/23'
.............

I know this advice is almost impossible to follow (I sure won't ;) ), but the absolute best thing any of you can do is to just stop visiting the order page. Just from my personal experience Verizon is VERY conservative with their ship dates and you'll tend to get it a bit sooner than they say. They also can be somewhat inaccurate with lots of hopping around and such. There was a huge issue with the Galaxy S7 showing a ship date of like 2 weeks later for people who ordered silver that ended up being an error for most.

You'll drive yourself crazy looking at that stupid order page, ignoring it is the best idea.

Now having said that I'm going to go check my order status ;)

I ordered a 7 Plus matte black 128gb at 3:13am est and got a deliver by date in the email of 9/23.

Also ordered a 7 Plus jet black 128gb at 3:18am est and got a deliver by date in the email of 10/5 (but status says ship by 9/23).

No charges or anything for either of them

If your shipping date is slated for the 16th don't worry about it. I've been through several of these pre-orders with launch day delivery and Apple always comes through. The pattern is the same this time. Even though your status indicates standard shipping, the phone may not ship out until a day or 2 before launch. If Apple says launch day delivery, it will be launch day delivery no matter the shipping method. Some phones may come from China, others may already be located in the US. Don't worry if it hasn't moved yet.

In my experience ship date and delivery date are always the same, which is kind of confusing. To me, ship date should be the day it starts moving. But I digress.

No, in my experience the ship date on Verizon's end has never really moved much, but the phone is delivered regardless of Verizon's estimate.

About 1 or 2am the morning of delivery everything gets updated. Until then, all signs point to your order being lost in limbo.

I remember last year a lot of people got impatient and there were countless stories of people on these forums cancelling their pre-orders to pick up in-store, or to place a new order for their second choice device, etc. That never works out.

If you wake up on Friday and you don't have any updates, call Verizon and ask them what's up. But, if your phone is coming on Friday you may not have any indication whatsoever before the Fedex guy rings your doorbell.

Edit - am/pm not validated.
User MsRandall ordered the same size and color at 12:15 PST and has a 9/28 ship date; however, I'll assume this was an AM order.

I ordered a Jet Black 7 plus 256 GB - 9/28 date on confirmation email time 12:15 PST.

Did you order this at 12:15am or pm on launch day?

Against my better judgement, I contacted Verizon because of my conflicting dates.

As I previously knew, it's a waste of time.

Rep tried to infer that I ordered late: "Phones were available at midnight, you ordered at 2:37A."

Me: Yeah, 2:37a.....Eastern Time. Which is the equivalent of 11:37p Pacific time, which is where it launched at midnight."

L O L

Just going to be patient, no need in checking every five minutes.
