Sounds like a pretty legit theory. Hopefully it's wrong though lol :)

preordered 128 GB MB 7+ by 12:28 PST with a deliver by 9/23 date and still have yet to see any updates...every other iPhone ive preordered ive managed to get on release day. they mustve only made a nutsack of jet black, black pluses
 
Not sure if this is relevant or not, but i ordered an iPhone 7 Plus Matte Black 32GB, 3:19AM EST confirmation email 9/28 delivery estimate. I had a $1 pending charge on my bank account.

That $1 pending charge has disappeared from my account. I have no idea what that means or if its totally irrelevant, but figured I'd share.

yeah same here pending charge is gone. hopefully the real charge is coming soon!
 
Ok for anyone that has a 1$ charge it's a pre authorization charge to make sure the card is working they don't charge you in the end it's just to see if the charge works. Seen that way to often lol

Hows this for believeing nothing that a Verizon CSR tells you. I just had one on Live chat and she told me that "No iPhone 7 devices have been shipped at all" so I said well i KNow tons of people with tracking numbers to which she replied "Ok that's great as the latest information we had was that they weren't going to ship until 9/16..If they already have tracking numbers that;s wonderful."

You cant make this stuff up. They are CLUELESS! this was a business rep on Live chat.

I know that, I was just noting that the charge disappeared. Not sure if it disappearing and the real charge coming has any correlation (i'm a noob at iPhone online preorders, so forgive me)

Don't think so. Think it just automatically drops off after several days. For some, that happens to be when their phone ships, but I believe it's just coincidence.
 
Ok so i just left a Verizon corporate store... he told me their store inventory is getting shipped today because there was a delay from china... his boss has to drive to New Hampshire to pick them up tomorrow morning to have in store for preorders and walk ins. He also said they are only expecting about 12-15 walk in phones but doesnt know gigs or colors until they arrive. He told me stop in tomorrow before work and see what they have... so i guess there js still hope that more will ship today overnight....

I wasn't being an ass your not the only one on here sorry if you took it that way my bad but no it has no correlation at all cuz in the end you don't get charged the 1$. It's just apple making sure they get paid so they can send it out.

Cmon Verizon take my money! Good to know it's only 1.00 I used my debit card to order from Apple when I got my 6s Plus 128. They pre authorized the whole amount of the phone.

Good to know Verizon isn't going to do that

I thought they did the $1 to make sure the card works so they can then charge you the full amount you owe. Usually they happen pretty close to one another
 
still waiting on mine, 128gb matte black 7+, location code D772101 (anyone with the same location code and model get theirs shipped) also, i did order a few hours after the site went live because i had to cancel my first order...do you think that might have a factor? still hoping for shipment tonight though...

Mine couldn't even answer whether or not Joe Flacco was elite. Clueless is right.

LOL, I think this forum knows more than the Verizon reps do sometimes....

Not normally like let's say you pay a bill like direct tv and you switch cards they send a pre auth code to make sure it's not a fake number or a closed visa it's an old system no idea why they still use it but as for pre orders I don't think it has any correlation at all but it could it would be a dick moved if they charged the 989$ to make sure it's in there they charge it again and there is no money in there lol

My Barclay Apple Rewards Visa had temp authorization for $0.00 and was gone a few hours after I preordered.

They're just checking to make sure the card is legit.

Can I ask where this screen grab is from? I haven't seen any VZW tracking pages that resemble this.
