Just got a call from Verizon store offering the $650-back deal for iPhone 7 purchases. First time I've ever gotten a call from them ahead of a product launch. Wonder they got more phones than expected or if it even means anything at all.

So I have told my self that by the grace of god, if my phone comes in tomorrow then I will shave my beard off. I only say this because i don't think its gonna happen, or at least don't have high hopes for it

If you do get it...youtube the bread shaving....

I called my local VZW store and the guy confirmed what the rep on the phone told me- if you go into a store tomorrow and they have the phone you pre-ordered, they can't cancel the preorder for you. Even though you can go online and cancel it, it may take several hours to go back into the system that you're eligible for an upgrade and they won't save the phone for you until your account reflects the cancellation and upgrade. So yea, I might as well stop stalking my bank account and just be surprised when my phone finally arrives. EDD is 9/28 but maybe it'll get here next week instead.

Looks like there's gonna be 8 flights going from Anchorage to Louisville in the next 4 hours.. flights leaving within minutes of each other

Someone earlier in this thread said that no flights from Anchorage to Louisville have iPhones on them this year...he seemed to know what he was talking about. let me find it

Edit: here:

Again, there are no iPhone preorders coming to Louisville initially. FlightAware was guessing based upon past years. They are being sent to other cities for logistics reasons. They may end up here Thursday night for sort for delivery Friday morning but you are watching planes for no reason.

don't the arrival dates show that it's arriving at like 1am eastern time? is that too late to be processing for overnight shipping?

No. In previous launches I've had phones leave Memphis or Louisville at like 4AM. Get to my city, go on a truck, out by 8 AM.

Hate to be a downer but is it really possible unless you live within 50 miles of Louisville to expect that a cargo plane to land at 1AM... unload and process, have inventory then jump on another plane... unload and process.... get on a truck and get to your house by tomorrow at 8PM? Especially when most delivery trucks that bring us our items to our homes are loaded in the early AM anyway If I had to guess most of that is inventory airborne or going airborne is slated for certain stores where in logistically can make it before tomorrow at AM and or is inventory to fill the rest of the 9/23 orders next week. If you get any shipping information today/tonight and a charge I would bet your phone has been here since Today...

Actually yes. That has happened several times for me. But I still don't expect to see my phone tomorrow anyway. I don't think Verizon has enough or any to go around right now.

My phone is coming on 9/28 anyways. So it doesn't really matter to me, but it seems like a lot of flights coming in back-to-back.
