That time of the year again.

Apple will automatically add your phone with it's serial number in your support profile. You can see it here:https://supportprofile.apple.com/

You can look up the week of manufacture and factory here: http://www.chipmunk.nl/klantenservice/applemodel.html

I will add updates on shipping after pre orders start.

This thread is for anyone on Verizon - whether you order from Apple.com or Verizon.

Info for Verizon.com users for macmann81 :

Verizon orders can get your location code by signing into your account then search for order status and click the link for Check Order Status/Order Tracking. Just a little different information than going to My Verizon/My Orders. My location code is P386501 which is Memphis FedEx.

Here is a tracker for everyone to use...please be kind and only use this for the purpose of tracking iPhone 6s orders.

Good. If you get the the order in on the first day. At least that is how it went last year

Is it easier to order directly from Verizon or better to order through Apple?
Ordering through both have worked for me in the past, but Apple has the best tracking information and better customer service especially if there is an issue with the order.

I will be switching to Verizon with 6s. So are we for sure know that "new customer" option will be available on the apple store website or verizon is the only choice for the launch time?

you can use the Apple website. When you choose the verizon carrier as a new customer it will ask you if you porting a number. You are not stuck with only using the verizon site.

Thanks, and you can not order it with a prepaid plan, can you?

but how do I set up my account beforehand without having a phone on Verizon?
Adding information on the apple site, like credit card, shipping address, etc can be added earlier so you can use Apple Easy Pay to get the transaction through faster.

How do you preoder using Verizon's monthly payment plans on either Apple/VZW site if you're a new customer?

Awesome, thanks for doing this.

I was going to start a separate thread, but since this is about Verizon (and you, the OP seem to be ITK about Verizon), let me ask here (I can get a mod to move it if it's off topic):

We're on Verizon with a More Everything plan, 8GB, 2 iPhones. The base (no fees/taxes) cost is $150, but we're off contract since December, phones paid for, so we get -$15/device discount, $70 + $25 + $25 = $120/month

The 8GB was a free bump, we usually stay around 2-3GB, except for the occasional biz trip (no biggie for overages). Our last phones were purchased through a "subsidy" plan, so $299/each, and like I said, long paid for, contract over.

The plan it looks like we can move to is the Verizon Plan with 6GB, that's $60 + $20 + $20 = $100/month, so even today, that would be a $20 savings (the Verizon site shows a $50 savings since the comparison screen doesn't factor in the discount for no contract).

We are really ready for new phones (both our batteries are shot, will replace them later), so I want to preorder them on Saturday (a 6S 64GB and a 6S+ 64GB).

Should I change contracts before then?

Does either plan support the no contract monthly installment model (at 0%)? When I do the preorder now, the confirmation page shows subsidy pricing, I want to stay no contract.

What are my options to pre-order on the 12th and receive the phones on the 25th (vs. just making an appointment)? Should I order from Apple or Verizon?

Thanks!

If you want to renew your contract and get another subsidized phone, you can. Verizon has only discontinued contracts and subsidized phones for new customers. I'm up for renewal now, and if I sign into MyVerizon and choose to upgrade my phone, it shows me two-year pricing. I've also spoken to Verizon reps and confirmed this, and I'll be renewing my contract and buying my iPhone 6s Plus with two-year contract pricing.

First of all, I would change the plan after you preorder and when activating the phones to see what Verizon will offer.

You can only do the monthly installment no contract plan from the Verizon site.

You can pay full price or make payments on the subsidized contract price on the Apple site.
However, there is the Apple Upgrade program but I am not sure about the pricing breakdown.

Either way you go, It will be a timing issue to make sure you get you phone on Sept 25th (earlier the better).

How do I pre order without renewing my contract? I need to keep my unlimited data plan so I have to pay full price. I went to some link to pre enter info prior to the pre order day, though since I am not eligible for a new phone right now, it did not give me any options.

Thanks to both of you, these were very helpful.

OK, I thought that might be the case, but I don't _think_ I want to get back into a contract, just sort of down on long term agreements with termination fees, etc.

Gotcha on the monthly installment, go Verizon or pay full price on Apple, or potentially use their new Upgrade Program (I believe the latter requires a store visit, so pre-order is like a "reservation", but that may be OK as well).

I hear you on the pre-order, I'm usually getting phones mid-cycle so no hassles, but I was caught in the Apple Watch fiasco (though the wife did get hers on the first day of deliveries) The 25th isn't a drop dead date, I'd just like to get into that initial batch of orders vs. having to wait several weeks.

Thanks so much for all this info! I have the app set up and am qualified for an upgrade and get a new contract. My next question is, will I have to choose a new plan? I like my current month to month plan and would like to keep it, if I can unless they have a cheaper one?
