Verizon Carrier Update?

According to Websites, it's to fix the phone from still using LTE even when connected to Wi-Fi. A lot of people have been having problems with high data usage. This supposedly fixes it
 
After the carrier update and power cycle, I noticed that my hotspot gets picked up more easily by my laptop.

Before, it would timeout 7/10 times.
