I ordered a 12.9 2GB with cell as soon as my order would go through this morning. My delivery date is not until June 2nd - Jun 9th. After placing my order, I received an email from Apple regarding the carrier discounts. In that email, it says the new iPad needs to be activated within 30 days of order date in order to get the $200 gift card. Obviously, I won’t have the new iPad or be able to activate within that 30 day window. Along with Apple store problems this morning, I’m not very happy with this situation.

From email after ordering iPad:

Activate with Verizon to get $200.

Within 30 days of placing your order, activate your new iPad on an Unlimited or Unlimited Plus data plan at verizon.com or on the MyVerizon App.

I’m about to place my order now. I see delivery May 25 for the 256g 12.9”.

Yeah, they are going to have to clarify this. Realistically speaking, it should be 30 days of receiving the order. Mine has a June 9th date so I’m in the same boat.

The fine print says you have 30 days from the date of activation, through June 27. You’re essentially pre-ordering the device today. The ‘order’ is placed according to Apple when it ships, otherwise we would all lose a month off our AppleCare too.
It’s still better than AT&T’s promo of $150 off, provided in $5 bill credits for 30 months.

I didn’t receive an email for this offer. I just ordered the 12.9 inch. Can I take advantage of this?

OP, please let us know the results if you do call. I was fortunate enough to get a delivery window within 30 days, but given that Apple is taking 21 of those 30 days just to do initial shipments, this promotion seems very customer hostile if it functions literally as stated.

However, that's not out of character for telecom companies. What is an  Watch $10 a month? Why, when I removed my father's line from our plan (old flip phone), did my bill increase by $30 a month? Why do we have to pay a $30 activation fee when I transfer my pre-existing line to a new device?

With Tmobile it states that I have 30 days to activate it with the plan once I receive my new iPad Pro
