Did you pre-order from the Verizon Store?

Has anyone that did their pre-order at the Verizon store gotten shipment notification? Here's my scenario.

Last week prior to launch I went to the local Verizon store to ask about LTE coverage in my area. The store rep told me that I could do my pre-order at the store. As we were talking about getting the best price, I was told that they could waive the activation fee $35 if they did the order. Since I was ordering 5 phones, this was attractive savings of $175) My rep was not going to be in the store until Friday at noon, so I setup to meet him back at the store at noon on Friday. I was online at 3a, but did not order until I went to the store. Of course by then, when the order was placed I got a 9/26 ship date.

What bugged me is that what I did at the Verizon store I could have done online at 3am, (or when the store opened). The discounts and the activation stuff he told me they'd do once I got my phones in and brought them back in to them to activate and port my numbers. So because I ordered at my local store I have to wait an extra week? So my questions are as follows?
1. Has anyone that preordered from Verizon store got their shipment notification?
2. Has anyone that has a 9/26 ship date gotten a notification?
3. If I don't get notification by Thursday PM, should I just go to the Verizon store at 8a on Friday and order new phones and have them cancel my order?

i don't have a tracking number yet...damn verizon! they told me friday morning over the phone i'd receive it this friday :-(

you should be fine chill hommie!

when you type in your preorder confirmation # it says ships 9/21? thats why mine said on verizons website before i got my track.. my email confirmation after my prorder said delivery 9/21.

check your initial email. what time did you order it? im sure you are fine if it is saying ships 9/21

I have the same thing on my confirmation...i should do what you just suggested and that's call them. haha

Any Verizon Business customers...

That HAVE received a confirmation / shipped notice? If all of us are in the same boat I feel better, but if some have received ship notices, then I will begin to worry.

Haha, SmartPost is when FedEx delivers to USPS Post Office, then USPS delivers it. No way that they shipped the iPhone with that shipping service, also the weight doesn't make sense. That's not an iPhone 5.

lol that store rep just wanted the commission on 5 phones!!

i dont think anyone with 9/26 is getting them.
i also dont think verizon is selling any phones on launch day. at least not the store i spoke to.
your best bet is getting the phones from radioshack, (not sure if walmart sales vzw) walmart, or bestbuy. In austin we have a walmart like store called HEB they had tons of the 4s.
Most places wont sell 5 iphones to one customer on a walk in BTW.At least not during opening.

i say go find them at a local store that sells, cancel the orders after you confirm they have them in stock. would suck to cancel, and then not be able to get any locally.. or just wait a week? it might get bumped up who knows.
 
Business account here too... still says "We have received your order and it is in process." My order location starts with 18***** is this the same for other business accounts also?
 
This has to be the most bounces I've ever seen in the same city :p

Got my tracking :)

Yay! My tracking came this morning in email..my phone is in Memphis, TN :) Says to be delivered 9/21 :)
 
It happened to my Amex as well. My initial status was for a shipment date of 9/21. After Amex rejected my charge, the status changed to 10/5. I called Verizon and spoke to the first customer rep. He was clueless and said that since the charge was rejected he could no longer process the order. The only way to process the order is to cancel the original order and initiate a new one which would ship on 10/5. I said to not do anything.

I called back another CSR and she was a little more knowledgeable. She said that she ran in to the same problem earlier. She initially could not manually push the payment request to Amex but found another way to trigger the payment. The charge is now showing as a pending in the Amex portal.

However, the current status in the Verizon portal changed to "We received your order and it is in process. Payment not taken yet." and the "Expected Ship Date" is now blank. I'm hoping that they will process the order now for shipment. I'll call them tomorrow to see if there's a hold up in my order and argue that it should be processed immediately since they already charged my credit card.

Wish me luck.....

Woohooo.... I just received my FedEx tracking number and it will arrive 9/21. Phewww....

I can't login to my account to check status, so I can't speak to the order location. I do have a confirmation e-mail with a 9-digit equipment upgrade number preceded by "MB" (MBxxxxxxxxx).

Most 9/14 business orderers who can login report their status indicates the order is "awaiting inventory." When did you place your order?
 
Am I the only thinking like "Damn Verizon, couldn't you have paid for guaranteed morning delivery?! Now I have to wait until 3pm at the latest!!" LOL

Seems like they are just shuffling them around the facility to get them out of the way. There were supposedly 2million preorders that first day or something. That means since memphis is a central hub for fedex there are likely a lot of iphones hanging out in memphis right now. Best option is probably to put them off in a truck or warehouse out of the way which is probably all the movement around memphis.

I placed mine over the phone when business support opened, because the crazy business account system didn't recognize our phone plan. I got a confirmation email, but without the MBxxxxx number, just a preorder number. I finished the phone call around 8am on 9/14
