So yeah my package is finally moving from Memphis. Allows to hold package and has destination and weight oops. Doesn't actually let you hold it.

Mine has also been updated with a new status saying "Shipment information sent to FedEx". My destination is now showing up in the tracking as well. I'm guessing we will all be seeing quite a lot of movement tonight.
Here's my dilemma: even with a Friday 9/21 delivery, I can't be home to sign for this package.
There's no "usual time" for Fedex here, and I can't get off of work to sit home and wait for them...
What options do I have to get this dropped off at a nearby Fedex Office store, for pickup on my way home from work? Any? I don't have a tracking # yet or I would call Fedex. I suppose I can give them a ring for purely informational purposes, but have you guys had to contend with this problem? Have you been able to leave a signed piece of paper for the driver...?

And..... Just got shipping email via FedEx... What case did everyone order? I ordered the front and back Zagg screen protectors with the Otterbox Commuter Case (black). Both were back ordered when I purchased :-( so that I know I have to wait for.

I spoke with a very nice woman at Verizon last night and wanted to share some details that I think others have posted but maybe consolidate and/or confirm them.
I was told that orders placed after 9AM EST on 9/14 would be shipped ON 9/21. The original 9/21 delivery estimate in the confirmation email was based on an estimated quantity coming from Apple to Verizon, but apparently Apple delayed their shipment to Verizon and that has caused delays.
I think the "after 9AM" thing is probably accurate, but if orders are canceled or more units come in I am sure they'll try to get them out to people by 9/21.
Secondly, a lot of credit cards are blocking the charges and flagging for fraud. This is due to the fact that Verizon initially places a temporary charge when you placed your order on 9/14 and then they place it again when they go to ship and the CC company sees it as a potential double hit. If this occurs call your CC company AND THEN Verizon and they'll process the charge while you are on the phone. If this happens to you, you will get an email and it WILL NOT impact your place in line.
Lastly, be nice to the CS reps. They are buried in calls and the woman I spoke with said more than a few customers have been irate. Even if Verizon screwed up it's not the person on the phone's fault.

I think it's been shown numerous times in this thread that Verizon reps have no clue about the cutoff time. My confirmation email from last Friday said 9/21 and I ordered at 11:33am. Like last year, the VZW offer status page says "ship on 9/21", but that's when they're delivered. FedEx is showing delivery by 3pm tomorrow for me.

hahah i know the feeling! when i saw the pending charge i was smiling ear-to-ear. and at least i have my 4S with iOS6 now to hold me over until my 5 arrives
Still waiting for my tracking number after receiving "Your order is in process" on the status page and a pending charge.
The only thing that worries me is - I just checked my Document in My Verizon - it says they shipped FedEx 2 day. Not sure how 2 day shipment is going to get it here in less than 48 hours.....
Also - the regular status page still says the expected ship date is still 9/21

Don't worry, there's only a few who who stick out their chest behind a keyboard because of a post count. They, obviously are far superior and much more knowledgable. Either that or they have no life and hit F5 all day reading every single update as they come in.
Don't get discouraged, plenty of other people here to help. Exciting 36 hours to come!
Ugh same story here. I saw 2 Day Shipping on the receipt too. I'm thinking about giving the online order customer service a call when they open at 8. But scared of bad news. My date still says 9/21 though.
I joined just to give some others in the 11th hour hope! We JUST (as in 4:30 am MT) received our tracking info - two separate tracking numbers for white and black 64gb phones. We are in Colorado and ordered during the first hour of preorders (1am MT).
We also had the fraud flagging issue with our bank. We first cleared the alert and then called Verizon, where they ran our CC over the phone to verify it went through. This fraud issue all happened yesterday....
And to the person who said they wouldn't be home to take delivery - if your tracking info from FedEx says indirect signature required, you can leave a form/door tag that authorizes the delivery person to leave the package. I think there is a thread somewhere on here with a link to the form...

... Finally! I noticed the status change early this AM. No tracking info yet. Also see that the pending charge hit my cc yesterday. Funny when I excitedly informed my girlfriend of this breakthrough development this AM all she said was "yawn". Hmp.

I received the shipping email today at 7:10. It says delivered by 3pm tomorrow. I live in Manhattan. I ordered a black 64 at 8:40am on the 14. D772001.
